You Looked Down on Me Once, Now You Look Up. novel Chapter 341

As soon as Patricia reached the lobby, her phone blew up with frantic messages from Sara, almost like they had some kind of telepathic link. One panicked SOS after another popped up on her screen.

Patricia texted back, Just got downstairs, and before she could even slip her phone back into her bag, Sara’s call came through.

“Aunt Patricia, where are you? I’m coming down right now—don’t you dare get lost!” Sara’s voice was breathless with excitement. “And listen, there are a ton of cute guys in the office, so don’t go getting distracted!”

Sara practically leaped up from her seat in front of Oliver, loudly announcing her exit while grabbing her phone and hustling out of the office. The second she made it through the doors, she took off at a run.

The moment she spotted Patricia, she went in for a huge bear hug. “Aunt Patricia, you’re the best! I want you to be my aunt in my next life too.”

Patricia laughed. “So you want Oliver to be your uncle again?”

Sara made a face. “Ew, no way! Don’t jinx me!”

Still bundled up in her big coat and hat, Patricia followed Sara upstairs. As soon as they opened the office door, they found Colton and Roger sitting there, staring at her with these big, hopeful puppy-dog eyes. All that was missing was a little tail wagging.

You couldn’t help but feel bad for them.

Sara didn’t miss a beat. She practically shoved Patricia straight into Oliver’s arms. “Aunt Patricia and Uncle Oliver need to talk. We’ll just, uh, see ourselves out.”

It was warm inside, and Patricia started to sweat under her heavy coat. She nudged Oliver gently. “I’m roasting. Let me go.”

He loosened his hold and stepped back a bit. “You came all the way here just to save them?”

Patricia shrugged off her coat, smiling. “Nope. I came to see you.”

“I don’t buy that for a second,” Oliver said, raising an eyebrow. Everyone knew Patricia and the three troublemakers were thick as thieves. Sara, especially, had a way of getting whatever she wanted, and with that mouth of hers, she could talk Patricia into almost anything.

“What, you don’t believe me? Want me to leave so you can keep working them to death?”

Patricia knew exactly how to handle him. She was certain Oliver wouldn’t actually let her just walk out.
