“My bad. If I’d known Patricia was your girl, I never would’ve gotten involved. Hope you can forgive me.”

“Forgive you? As if I’d dare. With all your power, Sean, you even went after my family’s daughter-in-law. Forgiveness is the last thing on my mind.”

Sean’s breathing grew shaky. Things were spiraling fast, and he knew he was losing control. He had to swallow his pride. “Oliver, this is all just a misunderstanding…”

Who’d have guessed the notoriously picky Theo would end up marrying a woman who’s been married before? If the gossip rags in Golden Bay caught wind of this, they’d have a field day.

“A misunderstanding? You think just saying that erases the fact you tried to kill my wife? Why don’t you call up Riverdale and see what’s happening there right now?”

“People in power, instead of looking out for everyone, just hire killers to do their dirty work. Sean, you really think you run the world?”

Oliver was fuming. His eyes were full of murder as he looked down at the man squirming on the floor. He bent over to pick up the sniper rifle lying nearby, testing its weight in his hand.

“Brand new model. Just imported, barely anyone’s even seen it, and yet Sean’s already got his hands on one.”

“Really going all out, huh, Sean? Guess you don’t care about burning bridges anymore.”

“If that’s the game you’re playing, then the Padilla family isn’t holding back either.”

“Aiden, take him to the Riverdale police. I want to see just how far Sean’s influence actually goes.”

“Oliver—” Sean knew better than to mess with Oliver, so he turned to Miles, hoping for someone a little easier to deal with.

Out of the three Padilla brothers, Oliver was by far the hardest to handle.

He was hardly ever in Golden Bay, and when he decided to make a move, he never cared about anyone’s reputation or feelings.

He might seem polished and put-together, but deep down, he was rebellious, bossy, and had a legendary temper.
