You Looked Down on Me Once, Now You Look Up. novel Chapter 459

“Why’d she leave?”

Jackson sat in the passenger seat of a black sedan parked a little distance away, eyes fixed on the scene outside.

Aiden sounded tense. “Does it matter if she left?”

Jackson stretched, hands behind his head, glancing lazily at the people walking off. “Not really. As long as they showed up, that’s all that counts.”

Patricia had wanted to give Ruby a big surprise, but lately, Emerson and Tina had been watching her like hawks. She couldn’t make a move on her own, so she asked Mr. Padilla for help.

If you want someone to do something stupid, you need someone else to push them over the edge.

And that’s exactly how it went: Riley invited Diego out for dinner, and suddenly everything was set in motion. Riley kept hinting that she wanted to handle it herself, and Diego, thinking he was being smart, pulled a few strings just to get in on the action.

He had no idea this was all part of Patricia’s plan.

“How’s she supposed to make the news if she just leaves?” Aiden grumbled.

Jackson shot him a look. “You’re way too literal. Making the news isn’t like livestreaming. As long as she showed up, that’s enough. No one needs to camp out there all night.”

Aiden stared. “Wait. You watch livestreams?”

Jackson rolled his eyes. “Obviously. I even follow those borderline streamers.”

Aiden was honestly shocked. “Seriously? How can you watch that stuff?”

Jackson smirked. “You keep asking and I’ll make you regret it.”

Aiden fell silent, shaking his head.

After a while, Ruby came out, sunglasses on. Jackson quickly snapped a few photos and sent them to Patricia.

At Cloud Peak, Patricia picked up her phone and zoomed in on the pictures. Her gaze landed on Ruby’s long legs in those pants, and she couldn’t help but smile a little wider.
