A Love to Die For (Nathaly) novel Chapter 13

Chapter 13

After the torrential rain, the sun shone brilliantly and splendidly.

Elijah carefully sorted out the belongings Nathaly had left behind and placed them into the wooden box held by his assistant. Staggering to his feet, he spoke in a somber tone, “Reopen the lawsuit against the Fridley family regarding Mr. Bowden’s death and Nathy’s expulsion back then.”

“As for Clayton, ruin him.”

A shopping mall under the Tuckett Group.

Nicole was in an excellent mood, shopping to her heart’s content with the black card Elijah had given her as a birth- day present.

She wasn’t afraid of Elijah getting angry at all.

Although the Fridley family had never been as wealthy or powerful as the Tuckett family, she had known Elijah since childhood and knew he responded to softness, not force.

When the time came, she would just act spoiled as always.

So what if that wretch Nathaly was dead?

After all…

Nicole touched her own belly, a mocking smile appearing on her lips.

In just a few months, Elijah would surely forget all about Nathaly.

The three of them would live happily together as a family forever!

With this thought, Nicole bought all the luxury baby sets in front of her.

“Charge it.”

However, in the next second, the saleswoman who had been so respectful to her returned with the card, looking trou- bled.

“Ms. Fridley, this card… it can’t be used.”

Nicole instantly flew into a rage, but before she could start cursing, her phone rang.

It was Elijah.

Nicole started smiling again.

“Eli, where did you go? I’m feeling much better now and am out shopping. When are you coming home? I want to

give you a surprise.”

Nicole’s tone was sweet and coquettish.

On the other end of the line, Elijah, sitting in the back seat of the Maybach, also curled his lips into a smile.

“Is that so? Coincidentally, I have a surprise for you too. Come out, I’m at the entrance.”

Nicole abandoned her purchases and ran joyfully toward the entrance.

Sure enough, she saw the Tuckett family’s Mercedes parked there.

She smiled and opened the back door, but Elijah was not inside.

“Where is your Mr. Tuckett?” Nicole asked the driver in the front seat with a cold face.

“Mr. Tuckett is preparing a surprise for you,” the driver replied flawlessly.

Only then did Nicole sit in the car, satisfied.

The scenery outside the window receded, and half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a newly built sanatorium.

Nicole got out of the car, looking puzzled.

“Are you sure you didn’t take the wrong turn? Eli is waiting for me here?”

The driver remained expressionless. “Mr. Tuckett specially brought in equipment worth tens of millions from abroad to help nurse your health.”

Nicole finally breathed a sigh of relief, but just as she turned to go inside, she suddenly stopped and turned to scruti- nize the driver again.

“Are you new here?”

The driver did not respond.

A chill shot up Nicole’s spine.

Nicole tried to run, but the driver knocked her out with a single blow.

When she opened her eyes again.

Nicole found herself tied up inside an MRI machine, instantly overwhelmed with terror.

“Let me go! Do you know who I am?! The future Mrs. Tuckett! If you dare harm a single hair on my head, Elijah will never let you go!”

But in the next second, a man’s deep voice sounded.

“The future Mrs. Tuckett? You think you’re worthy?”

Elijah sneered coldly, “I really didn’t know how long you’ve been swaggering around in my wife’s name behind my

back. You even dared to bully my wife…”

Realizing she had been exposed, Nicole trembled all over in fear, but still tried to be stubborn, forcing out a few tears as she cried and begged for mercy.

“Eli, you’re finally here, I’m so scared, they’ve all been bullying me. I don’t know what you’re talking about? Bullying your wife? I know she’s the one you care about most, how could I possibly do that?”

Her supposedly clever lies completely collapsed when she saw Clayton’s severed head.

“Ah-”

Just like Clayton, she was so terrified that she lost control of her bowels and bladder.

Elijah, however, was in a great mood, lowering his eyes with a light laugh.

“Your brother was just unlucky. I gave him a chance to escape, but it just so happened that a few sharks showed up in the sea. By the time my people found him, only his head was left.”

Nicole’s teeth chattered in terror. “Eli, I love you… please, let me go, okay? I’m already carrying our baby…”

She thought that saying this would soften Elijah’s heart.

Little did she know, he didn’t care at all.

“Except for Nathy, I won’t want anyone’s child. Do it.”

As soon as he finished speaking, dozens of masked bodyguards entered, carrying baskets full of snakes and insects.

Nicole was completely driven insane by fear, left only with the sound of her chattering teeth.

“Take it. This is what you owe Nathy.”

Elijah said indifferently.

Countless snakes, insects, and rats that had been starved for three days crawled into the machine where Nicole was held.

They devoured her beautiful appearance along with her dreams of being a wealthy wife, leaving nothing behind.
