Chapter 14
Seventy-two hours later.
Nicole, whose body was now covered in wounds, was finally released.
Elijah sat on a black leather sofa, feigning sleep, his handsome face as solemn as a stone sculpture.
When Nicole, dragged in by bodyguards like a dead dog to sign the organ donation consent form, he still did not lift his eyelids, his long forefinger slowly caressing a piece of white dress fabric in his palm.
“Hah… hah…”
Nicole now looked like a vengeful ghost. She trembled all over from pain, yet still mustered all her strength to glare fiercely at Elijah.
Suddenly, she burst into manic laughter.
“Elijah! Even if you kill me now, that bitch Nathaly will never come back! From the day you slept with me, you were tainted!”
The temperature in the room plummeted.
The bodyguards hurriedly covered her mouth.
But Nicole hated the man before her so much, there was no way she would submit.
“You think I killed Nathaly… but you know very well, it was you who killed her with your own hands! You ordered the doctor to perform the abortion! You ordered that my brother not be held responsible! And it was you who told me to donate my eggs so she could have a child!”
She glared with one eye already gnawed by rats, her smile twisted and ferocious.
“You are the most disgusting man in this world!”
Seeing her words grow more and more outrageous, the bodyguards simply knocked her out and dragged her away in a hurry.,
But Elijah remained motionless, sitting in silence.
It was not until much later, when the setting sun sank below the horizon,
that he seemed to awaken, murmuring softly, “Yes, I deserve to go to hell.”
Three days later, a smuggling ship bound for Mexico set sail in the dead of night, carrying Nicole.

At the same time, an exposé from an anonymous insider shot to the top of the trending topics.
Nicole’s father, who had rebuilt his business with the Tuckett Group, was imprisoned for bribery committed years ago, and was later found by fellow inmates to have hanged himself in his cell at midnight.
Upon hearing the tragic news, Nicole’s mother jumped to her death that very day.
At Nathaly’s funeral.
Ignoring everyone’s attempts to stop him, Elijah personally carved the tombstone, bit by bit.
He erected Nathaly’s cenotaph with his own hands.
After the funeral, Elijah fell ill.
He locked himself in the villa where he and Nathaly had once lived, dismissed all the staff, and curled up on a sofa piled with Nathaly’s old clothes, drinking day and night without rest.
It was not until half a month later, when the secretary, unable to bear the board’s urging any longer, brought in the property management to force their way into the villa.
This time, the secretary also came bearing explosive news.
“Mr. Tuckett! Are you all right?”
The secretary, trembling with fear, pushed open the bedroom door and saw Elijah, now as thin as a skeleton, sleeping soundly in a pile of Nathaly’s clothes on a floor littered with empty bottles.
But the heavy dark circles under his eyes and the blood at the corner of his mouth showed that he was suffering from serious health problems.
“Mr. Tuckett?”

The secretary’s voice trembled as he reached out to shake Elijah’s shoulder, finally waking him from his sweet dream.
The next second, the man’s hoarse, menacing voice rang out in warning.
“Who gave you the guts to wake me up?”
The secretary stared in shock at the gun pointed at his temple, swallowing hard before stammering, “I just found out that the day after Mrs. Tuckett’s mother died, she really did go up to the top floor of the Keeton Group and met with Casper. They even signed some kind of contract. It seems the two of them… reached some sort of agreement.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the room fell into a deathly silence.
A moment later, Elijah’s dull eyes seemed to come back to life, lighting up inch by inch.
“Get the car ready. We’re going to find Casper right now.”
