A Love to Die For (Nathaly) novel Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Nathaly opened her eyes from a coma and met the nurse’s gaze. The nurse gasped in surprise and rushed out to call the doctor.

“Dr. Brown, the patient in bed 07 who was transferred here after a car accident and has been in a coma for ten days has woken up!”

Ten minutes later, Nathaly was taken to various examination rooms for check-ups.

“Ms. Hensley, I’m sorry to inform you that the car accident caused damage to your uterus, and it had to be removed. But fortunately, aside from some mild inflammation in your lungs, your body is recovering very well. In a few hours, you’ll be able to get out of bed and walk.” Dr. Brown smiled warmly.

Nathaly glanced at the name written on her medical record-“Claudia Hensley.”

After she had a general understanding of her situation, she gave the doctor a faint smile.

“Thank you, doctor. I understand.”

After another two hours of observation in the hospital, Nathaly used the phone Casper had provided to contact his lo- cal assistant.

Half an hour later, the assistant drove to the hospital to pick her up.

The assistant was a local, with tanned skin and a tall build. When he smiled, his teeth were perfectly white.

“My name is Gary Daniel. I studied in America for seven years. Mr. Keeton has already arranged a house and a car for you. I’ll take you there now.”

It was a detached villa with a garden, located in a safe, clean, and tidy community.

Upon arrival, Gary quickly helped Nathaly open the door.

Casper’s people were thorough in their work. The house was fully equipped with everything from daily necessities to clothes and jewelry.

f you need anything, feel free to call me anytime.”

Gary was very tactful, standing at the doorway without entering. He shook his phone and pointed to the villa next door, “That’s my friend’s house. Their family is very friendly. If you ever have trouble and can’t reach me, you can knock on their door.”

Faced with his overflowing kindness, Nathaly instinctively felt a bit resistant. But she quickly adjusted her attitude and responded with an equally bright smile.

“Alright, then I won’t be shy.”

Only then did Gary leave, driving away with peace of mind.

Suddenly arriving in a completely unfamiliar environment, Nathaly felt a bit empty inside.

To avoid recalling her dark memories, she carefully toured the house inside and out.

It wasn’t until she returned to the study on the first floor that the window was suddenly knocked.

With the blinds blocking her view, Nathaly couldn’t see what was outside at first. Her already tense heart raced even faster, and she glanced around the room.

She finally decided to grab a baseball bat, turned sideways, and carefully pulled open the blinds.

As sunlight flooded into the room, she suddenly pushed open the window, raised the bat toward the target outside, and shouted sternly, “Stay away from my house!”

But she was met with a pair of round, tear-filled amber eyes.

Only then did Nathaly realize that the “bad guy” she had been worrying about was actually a chubby mixed-race little girl who had gotten stuck in the branches of the apple tree and couldn’t get down.

Now, the little girl was terrified by her. She burst into loud, wailing cries, her voice echoing painfully.

Nathaly was dumbfounded.

“I’m really sorry!”

Faced with the girl’s brother who came to “rescue” her after hearing the commotion, Nathaly’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

She was a woman in her twenties, and she had scared a child into tears. No matter how you looked at it, it was her fault.

“The little one seems really frightened. If you say the word, I’m willing to compensate.”

Nathaly looked at the nearly six-foot-tall man in front of her, her voice growing softer.

“Or I can take you both to the hospital for a check-up right now.’

At that moment, the man raised his head, tilted it, and frowned at her,

“Is this how you Americans solve problems?”

His tone was hard to read, but his deep, rugged features and slightly fierce expression made Nathaly’s heart skip a

beat.

Was he not going to let this go?
