Chapter 194

Lewana POV

I wake up blissful in the forest. The sun beaming down on my skin, warming it gently, the birds chirping softly in the forest, and the throbbing ache between my legs from a very satisfying night.

I roll over a watch, Conrad breathing softly as he sleeps, and I curl up next to him, just feeling his body warmth. He must have sensed I was awake as he opened his eyes.

I can’t hide the smile and just feel how much stronger the bond is between us this morning.

“Morning Shadow“.

“Morning“. He just starts laughing and puts a hand over my belly. “You feel pretty smug about the trap you set for me last night. Don’t you?“.

“Yep. I know Jace … encouraged you, so thank you, Jace“.

I passionately kiss him, but he starts to push me away. I start to playfully whimper, and he just gives me a stern look. “You literally got your fill last night, and I can tell you’re starving. We need to get some food into you“.

We slowly make our way to the kitchen, but as soon as I smell Mary cooking breakfast, I take off at a full sprint.

I burst through the back door, making everyone jump, and grabbed the bacon right out of the pan.

Mary starts laughing. “Well, someone worked up an appetite last night“.

I’ve already grabbed a pancake to eat as I am carrying it over to the table and start my second as I put the plate down.

Conrad has caught up and is now laughing at me from the doorway. “I told you, you were hungry“.

I smile as I pour myself some orange juice and start drinking.

Liam is smirking at the table. “You’re in a good mood this morning“.

I quickly reply “yep” before starting on some eggs.

Liam started laughing. “So Conrad finally gave it to you then“.

Conrad walks over and smacks Liam on the back of the head before coming to sit next to me. I think

Liam was a bit annoyed by my reaction, as he was expecting me to be embarrassed or at least get a

rise out of me.

“And I couldn’t be happier. Full moon, chat with Goddess, and flexed my true power, so it was a great night all around“.

Liam tries again. “I know. We all heard“. He smirks as he sees Arthur getting uncomfortable and focusing very hard on his plate.

“Your teasing will not work today, Liam. I am too happy. But keep it up, and I will make you suffer“.

He lets out a loud laugh. “HA. You have nothing on me“.

I raise an eyebrow at him. “Really, because the Moon Goddess told me last night you called her an evil, neglectful bitch a while back“.

We all froze when we heard growling coming from the stove. I had never heard Mary growl before, and from the look on Liam’s and Conrad’s faces, they hadn’t either.

“Liam Raymon Blackwood. You said WHAT about our beloved Moon Goddess?“.

He starts stammering. “I was very upset, and she actually helped me make the compass thing to find our Luna Queen, so I think she is OK with me now“.

I just smile. “She is, but she would appreciate it if you never did it again“.

Liam starts nodding furiously. “Yep, see. I’m all good“.

Mary snaps at him. “Well, I’m not. You will grovel at my altar tonight and help me in the moon. garden to make it up to her. I’m also giving her your cookies as an offering“.

His face falls. “What? Not my cookies. It’s not like she is going to eat them“.

I can’t help but burst out laughing at this. Conrad and Arthur join me as Liam just sulks as Mary continues telling him all the things he will help with in the garden.

The morning is interrupted by one of the guards coming to the door.

Chapter 194

“Alpha King, Luna Queen. When you are ready, we need you to inspect the rogue prisoners“.

I’m instantly on my feet. “Is something wrong?“.

“Honestly, we’re not sure. They’re not eating and frozen in the corner of their cells“.

I nod at Conrad, and we go get ready for the day. We message Connor to come with us so he can check that they are not turning and go from there.

When we enter, I stay behind and let Conrad and Connor go first. The guards were right. Something is wrong. They are all in the corner of their cells, curled up in a ball. There is food on the tray on the floor, but they aren’t going near it.

Conrad speaks first. He is firm but doesn’t use his command. “Why are none of you eating?“.

Silence.

Connor inspects them one by one. “None of them are back. They’re swirling as if they can’t ground

themselves“.

Conrad tries again. “I am the Alpha King. Explain why you are not eating“.

One of them speaks up. “Where is Master? If you are Alpha King, then you know where Master is“.

My heart drops. They were talking about me. Because they have no Alpha command to follow, they

don’t know what to do.

I step out from behind Conrad so I am in view of the four rouges in the open cells. They instantly come running up to bars and kneel on the floor.

“Master. Do we eat now?“.

I stay strong as I know they need strength more than anything right now.

“Yes, I would like you to eat“.

They stare at me, confused. I know it was because it was a request and not an order. They don’t know if I’m lying.

I walk towards the cells, and I can see the one talking instantly braces himself to receive a hit for being disobedient.

I put my hands through the bars and gently stroke his head. His hair is greasy and messy, but I know his wolf is the one acting at the moment, and I’m not sure when he last felt comfort.

He looks around, confused, as if he is not sure what is happening. Not sure how to react. I try to explain it to him simply, as they are going to need some work before we can get information from

them.

“Thank you for talking. It makes me happy to hear you speak. It will also make me happy to see you

eat“.

All four seem to understand and go over to the trays to start eating.

However brief pure bliss is, it can always be created again. But for now, I will make my happiness continue by knowing they are closer to freedom.
