Chapter 200

Lewana POV

Things have been running well in the pack for the last few days while we gather intel and plan. I have been working with Willow in the Library to see if I can use the Moonflower essence to enhance my aura and break the bonds with greater ease. I struggled to do the last four rogues‘ full moons. How am I going to do 4000?

I have been taking a lot of the books to the living room as Prince Eli keeps coming in to try and spend some alone time with Willow. I make myself scarce and set up there.

Sitting by the window, I look up when I scent something familiar. Rosewater perfume. Rose is trying to find me. I instantly leave all the books and take off through the forest barefoot, tracking the

scent.

Running barefoot through the forest feels amazing. No stupid high heels that go with the outfits I need to wear for all these meetings we have been having. Just a sense of freedom as the wind goes through my hair and the sun warms my skin. I’m not running for long when I find her.

“Hi Rose. Was wondering when I would get to speak to you again“.

She embraces me and just holds me while I breathe in her perfume and feel the familiar scent

ground me.

She looks at me in determination, and I instantly know she came to me with something serious.

“Rose. What is it?“.

“We don’t know if we have something. There is a part of the forest surrounded by mountains that the

fairies refuse to enter. They state there is no life there to support. They spoke to my father about it,

and he sent some soldiers to check it out. We think the Shadows have put up a barrier to stop us

from entering. It might be how they have stayed hidden, but we can’t confirm. Water sprites have said the same thing. They can see the water flow, but it goes down a waterfall and disappears into nothingness“.

She hands me over a map but when I go to take it she pulls it back.

“My father is concerned about anyone going there if there is that much shadow magic at work. He states no wolf can go, unless it is under the projection of the full moon. He brought you these as a gift“.

She pulls her dress to the side and reveals several large bags. When I open them, they are full of clear quartz.

I ask. “What do we do with these?“.

“Your warriors need to wear them or carry them. Werewolves are more protected from shadows than we are, but these should provide extra protection if you start charging them now in moonlight now. This one, however, is for you“.

I look at the large crystal in her hand. A milky white stone with silver flecks that I didn’t think I would see. Moon Quartz.

“Rose, where did you get this?“.

“My father had to make a large trade for it. When you use it, it should amplify your power a thousand times, so you should be able to break the bonds with this; however, if they resist, it could be too strong and destroy their mind“.

Destroy their minds. That is a massive risk. “Are you sure I shouldn’t use the Moonflower essence?“.

“That might help if you put the stone in a drop of it, but our research shows the essence is more for Moon Goddess blessing or guidance, which you already have“.

The plan is starting to come together. If we have a rough location and a way to protect ourselves, all we need is a plan to get Malik out of the way.

I hug Rose goodbye and head back to the house. I honestly should have asked for help carrying these bags. It wasn’t easy while keeping the map under my arm, too.

I walk back into the house and see a confused Conrad waiting for me at the door. I must have been quite a sight when I walked in muddy and holding large hesan sacks.

Conrad just raises an eyebrow. “And what exactly have you been up to?“.

I explain everything to him, unable to contain my excitement that we might have a plan. An opening. Before I can finish, he rushes me into his study. I think he is still nervous about members of the pack knowing certain things.

I can see his mind turning as I explain what Rose told me. Before I finish, Liam and Arthur are in the

room as well.

Liam starts looking around excitedly between us. “So we have a plan then. When do we attack?“.

Conrad looks at the floor. “I might have an idea on that, actually. There is a formal gala on the next full moon. Lots of people investing in projects. For what Agent Carter has found out, Malik might be there under his new identity seeking more edorsements and funding see as his Sterling identity has been used up. If I can confirm he is there, then you would be free to do the raid“.

I take a deep breath. “So two weeks then. In two weeks, we aim to complete phase A before moving

onto phase B“.

We both look at each other as we know what it means. We’re declaring War. We are going to be risking our lives again. We are going to be separated again. But underneath that, a determination to

end this.

I can see both Beta’s faces change as they come to the same conclusion that we do. This was

happening.

We all go to dinner that night, and we can feel the heaviness in the air. We knew what was coming, but we had to tell the pack and the guardians tomorrow of our plan. We had to finalize all the details and start training. We also had to make sure our trap worked.

Tomorrow was going to be a big day.
