Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 58

Evelyn was so swept up in the excitement, she completely forgot she'd brought her boyfriend along.

Spinning around, she pulled Major up to Rosamund and beamed. "Rosa, this is Major—the boyfriend I told you about on the phone."

Then, with the pride of someone introducing a celebrity, she turned to Major. "Major, standing before you is none other than Miss Rosamund Worthington herself—famous actress, international star. I probably don't need to say more, do I?"

Major immediately extended his hand, trying to maintain his composure despite the awe in his eyes. "I'm Major Lowell, Evelyn's boyfriend. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Worthington."

Rosamund smiled graciously and shook his hand. "Very nice to meet you, Mr. Lowell."

Major's fingers curled slightly as his palm brushed against the smooth, cool skin of Rosamund's hand. It was only a brief, gentle handshake, but the delicate sensation lingered in his mind, leaving him a little dazed.

After all, this was Rosamund Worthington, eldest daughter of the Worthingtons and a rising star on the international stage!

He couldn't help but wonder—if, that day at Mr. Redmond's house, he'd greeted Willow with the same friendly handshake, would she have returned it just as politely? What would her hand feel like compared to Miss Worthington's?

Evelyn, oblivious to her boyfriend's wandering thoughts over a simple handshake, grinned and said, "Rosa, you can just call him Major from now on."

She then turned to Major, instructing, "And you can call her Rosa, just like I do."

Major snapped out of his reverie, quickly suppressing the ripples in his heart. He managed a smile. "But I think I'm a bit older than Miss Worthington. Isn't it inappropriate for me to call her by her first name just because you do?"

Evelyn shot a sly look at Rosamund, her smile hinting at mischief. "You don't have to worry about that. Rosa's going to be my sister-in-law sooner or later, so calling her by her first name is perfectly fine."

Before Evelyn could reply, Rosamund changed the subject. "By the way, have you two had breakfast yet? If not, would you like to join me for a bite? Otherwise, once we get to the press conference, there won't be time to eat."

"Sounds great," Evelyn replied cheerfully. She actually hadn't eaten yet—she'd skipped breakfast in hopes of looking extra slim today.

But with Rosamund inviting her personally, there was no way she could refuse.

Just like that, the conversation moved on, and Rosamund led them to the dining room. The staff quickly began setting out breakfast, and Rosamund made sure her makeup artists and assistants were served, too.

When the three of them finished and returned to the living room, Evelyn suddenly realized something was missing.

"Rosa, where are your parents? And Cordelia? Aren't they home?" she asked, voicing her curiosity.
