Burn in the Alpha Princess’s Wrath
Chapter 412 An Unexpected Reunion
Leslie’s POV
Finished
I flew straight to the neighboring city for the meeting. Before leaving, I sent Kelly a message, explaining the suspension of the show, apologizing, and instructing Michael to make sure the program was well–produced to push Kelly forward.
She replied quickly, saying she understood. That eased the knot in my chest.
The past two days had been too messy, too chaotic. I’d rather put in a couple extra shifts at the Pack–at least that had value.
The plane landed at the city airport. While Liam contacted the car to pick us up, I stood there with my head down, going through Pack emails on my phone.
Suddenly, a shadow fell across me. I looked up and saw Adler smiling as he stood in front of
His sandalwood pheromones spread gently, like a spring breeze blowing away the haze in my chest.
I froze. “Adler?”
Wasn’t he supposed to be on the Eastern Continent?
My heart skipped a beat, and Asphodel teased, Well, well. What perfect timing. Don’t tell me he came back just for you?
His smile was mild and warm, brimming with natural charisma. “Things are wrapped up in the East. I came back to attend an Alpha summit. What a coincidence running into you here.”
I nodded, smiling faintly. So, it was probably the same meeting. Quite the coincidence indeed.
“Welcome back.”
Adler gestured toward the Bentley parked by the curb. “Shall we go together?”
I hesitated for a second. Asphodel snorted in my head. Go on. It’s on the way. You might as well talk
a bit.
Adler chuckled, spreading his hands. “Besides, I’ve got a few things to ask you. I didn’t prepare much for this speech…”
I thought it over and nodded. “All right.”

Turning to Liam, I said, “Wait here for the others. I’ll go ahead with Adler”

“Yes,” he replied. Relief flickered across his face, and I thought, good thing Adler showed up. If I had to wait for a car by the roadside, Liam would’ve beaten himself up over it.
The ride was smooth. Adler asked casually, “Has Eren been behaving at your place?”
I stiffened slightly, a trace of guilt surfacing. I’d been so caught up with the show, I hadn’t paid much attention to that little left–behind kid for the past two days.
I smiled. “He’s been very good. Just a little clingy.”
Adler’s eyes crinkled with laughter. “Lars seems to like him a lot. When we video–chatted, he was teaching me how to fish–like a little pro!”
I couldn’t help but laugh. “Guess my dad thinks little Eren’s full of potential.”
Privately, I added, Let’s just hope Carl doesn’t rub off on him. That guy’s bad habits are plenty.
The car pulled up in front of the conference center. Adler got out and opened the door for me like a gentleman.
I thanked him, and we walked in together.
The organizers seated us side by side. The other seat had originally been marked with Kirby’s name, but it was quickly replaced.
Kirby wasn’t attending. I felt a wave of relief.
Good. I didn’t want to see him.
Asphodel gave a sharp snort. If he’d shown up, you’d already have a headache.
After a token opening remark, the organizers handed things over to the representatives of the major Packs.
The meeting was dull–just a stage for flexing and fishing for alliances.
The speakers at the front were spitting passion and saliva alike, but Adler and I listened attentively, trading opinions here and there,
His sandalwood pheromones stayed calm and steady, and for once, I found myself letting my guard down.
