Headlines like that half–truths dressed as scandal – always hook people. I couldn’t resist clicking.
But after a quick scan, I didn’t even see the name of this so–called “Eastern Continent alpha.”
My brows knit. What kind of exposé doesn’t name names? Were they expecting netizens to guess?
Carl walked in with a bowl of soup, catching me scrolling through gossip with a grin. “Eat something.”
“Mm.” I looked up at him. “Who is this ‘Eastern Continent alpha‘ online? Do we know him?”
Carl arched a brow, gaze loaded with meaning. “Look closely, and you’ll figure it out.”
I frowned, reopening the page, this time reading line by line.
The piece was written by someone claiming to be this alpha’s ex–girlfriend.
She said he had marked her with sweet words, then dropped her coldly, announcing their breakup on his own.
Worse, when she found herself pregnant, she carried the child to term, only to have him snatch the baby away. The child was barely seven now.
In her telling, the man was a heartless fraud, chasing after women he couldn’t have, discarding them once he did. And right now, she claimed, he was entangled with a female alpha.
The comment section was an inferno:
“Tell us his name! Ten million netizens will hammer this scum!”
“Cheating liar! A man like that doesn’t deserve love!”
“He even took her kid? Sue him! How can he steal the child?”
“All men are trash. They should all rot.”
The woman had even posted a few pictures of them together.
Her own face was uncovered – striking figure, pretty features.

The man, tall and refined, had his face blurred, but his frame radiated noble poise, not the brashness of most alphas. There was even a scholarly air to him.
Just the silhouette and bearing were enough to make plenty of people swoon.
Asphodel gave it a glance, then turned away with a yawn. Boring. Just more men–and–women drama.
But I frowned deeper, uncase stirring.
The woman’s tale was crafted to draw sympathy her vulnerability all but guaranteed it.
Yet there was no proof. No transfers, no messages, nothing but hazy photos and her tears. And still, this had climbed onto the trending list?
What gnawed at me most was the man’s figure. Something about it – an itch of familiarity I couldn’t shake.
Carl chuckled beside me, noting my frown. “See who it is yet?”
I tossed the tablet aside, picked up my spoon, and focused on the soup instead. “The face is blurred. How could I know?”
Carl’s smile widened, deliberate, each word slow and clear. “It’s Adler.”
Clang-
The spoon slipped from my hand, snapping in two on the floor.
