Leslie lowered her gaze. When she looked up again, her face was calm, composed, the same as always.
Her lips curved into a cold smile – a smile I knew well, sharp with clarity and resolve.
“Whether it’s true or not isn’t the point. Carl, he’s our ally, the bridge between Gold Empire and the Rogue Pack royal line. Do we really let some unverified rumor shred him to pieces on our own territory?”
She wasn’t wrong.
Here in the North, Leslie was probably the only person Adler could call a friend.
He had no power base here. Was he supposed to clear his name alone?
Even if the story were true, at the end of the day they were still allies – a bond between two royal bloodlines.
I exhaled, finally understanding what she meant.
That was the alpha way of thinking the pack’s interests always above personal grudges.

“All right. I get it.” I stood. “I’ll call in some favors, push this down. I’ll toss the public another piece of gossip to chew on. That’ll shift the spotlight.”
Leslie’s smile softened, genuine this time. “Mm. The ‘Stray Blade‘ isn’t all talk after all.”
I snorted. “Save the flattery.”
Phone in hand, I left the room and dialed a media executive’s private line.
For this sister of mine, the so–called Stray Blade always ended up doing the dirty work.
An hour later.
The web boiled over – a scandalous video of an actress caught with a director, his wife storming in on them, no blur, no mercy.
Within minutes, it went viral.
And the trending tag about “the scumbag alpha” simply vanished without a sound.

Of course the public preferred the familiar theater of celebrity disgrace over some nameless “Eastern Continent alpha.”
Even Leslie breathed easier.
Malach’s POV
Outside Kirby Alpha’s office, I stood watching the storm play out on the pack networks. Just as planned, it rose – then was crushed by a stronger hand.
Inside me, nothing stirred. After all, this had been in Kirby’s palm from the start.
That smear against Adler? I had arranged it myself.
Alpha had been plotting for months.
The delay had only been because the right “piece” was hard to find.
In our world, few women dared openly cross an alpha from Gold Empire. That kind of thing wasn’t about money
