Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 156

Charlotte leaned against the cold, unforgiving wall of her cell, eyes closed as if she hadn’t heard a thing.

The lawyer, undeterred by her silence, pressed on. “Mr. Noah Harrington is refusing to eat. He says he won’t touch a bite until you draw him a heart. If you agree, Mr. Harrington will allow you to see him.”

She opened her eyes slowly, her voice raw and weary. “Go back and tell Darren—I won’t do it.”

The lawyer’s tone sharpened with impatience. “Mr. Harrington also asked me to let you know: Ryan is with him now.”

Charlotte’s entire body went rigid.

Did that mean Darren was holding Ryan hostage?

She sat up straight, panic breaking through her composure. “How is Ryan? Is he hurt?”

The lawyer hesitated, surprised by her sudden reaction. “I’m just here to deliver a message. If you draw a heart and cheer up Mr. Noah Harrington, Mr. Harrington promises he’ll take good care of Ryan.”

Charlotte’s fingers clenched the edge of her prison uniform so tightly her knuckles turned white.

The silence stretched between them for what felt like forever. At last, she released her grip, her voice trembling. “I’ll do it.”

The lawyer handed her a pen and a piece of paper.

The shackles rattled loudly in the cell as she reached out with shaking hands and drew a crooked, lopsided heart.

Satisfied, the lawyer turned and left.

Outside, in the back seat of a sleek Rolls-Royce, the lawyer handed the drawing to Darren.

Darren’s eyes narrowed as he stared at the ugly little heart, rage simmering just beneath the surface.

She’d never cared when it was her husband begging on his knees. She hadn’t blinked for the child she’d carried for nine months and brought into the world herself. But for this adopted son—this boy who shared not a drop of her blood—she could give in so easily?

His chest rose and fell with suppressed anger.

“Mr. Harrington, is my mom okay?” Ryan’s timid voice broke the silence from the seat beside him.

Darren forced down his irritation, replying coldly, “You don’t need to worry. She’s just spending some time behind bars, that’s all.”
