Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 243

In the sterile quiet of the hospital room, Darren sat hunched on the edge of the bed, clutching a picture frame against his chest as if it were the only thing anchoring him to the world.

Inside the frame was a single photograph: two hands intertwined, fingers laced together.

He’d snapped it years ago, sneaking the shot while Charlotte slept beside him. Back then, he’d only thought it was a pretty picture. Now, looking back, it was a fleeting happiness he could never revisit—a memory forever out of reach.

The door swung open suddenly. Bradley entered, holding Ryan’s hand.

Darren shot Bradley a cold glance.

Given how things had turned out—the Harrington Group’s reputation in shambles—Darren knew he deserved it. Still, watching the beneficiary of his downfall stroll in, smug and expectant, made his mood even darker.

His voice was icy. “Don’t celebrate just yet. You’ve only won for now.”

Every word was sharp and unyielding.

Bradley could tell Darren hadn’t given up on Charlotte; his gaze grew somber.

After a beat, he spoke, low and heavy: “Lotty and I are divorced.”

Darren’s head snapped up, eyes wide with disbelief. “What? Didn’t she choose you?”

Bradley let out a short, bitter laugh. His voice was laced with self-mockery. “She didn’t choose either of us.”

Darren barely had time to process that before Bradley continued, “Lotty faced an international panel at the symposium and spoke nine languages fluently. She completed ninety percent of the next-gen artificial heart project in record time. Don’t you think that’s…strange?”

Darren’s grip on the frame tightened. “What are you getting at?”

Bradley’s reply was barely above a whisper. “It’s the neural implant. N-LINK’s flagship product is a brain-machine chip meant to help paralyzed patients lead better lives. But Lotty’s chip is at least fifty years ahead of any international prototype.”

“It doesn’t just improve quality of life—it can upload every recorded language, every scrap of knowledge. I probably don’t need to spell out the rest.”
