From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 122

Mason Bennett didn’t seem to mind. He always said, “As long as our family’s together, having just one daughter in a lifetime is more than enough.”

When she was a kid, Olivia used to believe that.

The Bennetts—they could be selfish and fake sometimes, but at least they acted like they loved each other.

Who would’ve guessed Mason had a whole other family somewhere out there?

From the way they talked, it sounded like Mason always wanted a son.

Olivia couldn’t help but wonder: What would Carmen Gates and Lavinia Bennett do if they ever found out?

A flicker of sarcasm flashed in Olivia’s eyes as she headed for the restroom.

Meanwhile, across town—

Carlson Baker stared at Ethan Carter, absolutely baffled. “Dude, how did you suddenly end up married?”

They’d both promised to stick to the singles’ club, and now Ethan had gone and tied the knot behind his back.

Honestly, if Carlson hadn’t caught him red-handed, who knows how long Ethan would’ve kept it a secret.

Ethan shrugged, totally nonchalant. “Felt like it, so I did it.”

Carlson snickered, shaking his head like he was looking at an alien. “That is not something you’d usually say, man. I thought you were planning to be a monk for life.”

Ethan shot him a side glance, voice cool as ever. “You can be the monk. I’m good.”

Carlson burst out laughing, half in disbelief. “Wow, marriage really turned you into a tough guy. But seriously, Olivia’s gorgeous. Don’t tell me you just married her for her looks? That’s not you, Mr. Carter.”

Ethan just grunted. “Not as shallow as you, man.”

Carlson gaped. “Excuse me? I am not shallow!”

His stomach twisted with frustration. He knew he couldn’t win an argument with Ethan, so he just shut up.

But then something caught his eye—a piece of paper in Ethan’s hand.

“So, what brings you to the hospital today? You feeling alright?”

Without waiting for an answer, Carlson snatched the paper.

As soon as he caught sight of the words “8 weeks pregnant” on the ultrasound report, he froze.

“No way… No freakin’ way…”
