Ethan Carter’s hand brushed lightly against her blushing cheek, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. “So, what do you think? Do I get a kiss back for that?”
His grin only deepened the shade of pink on Olivia Bennett’s face. She tried to squirm away, but his arm was locked tight around her waist.
She could only huff, “You wish. You really think you can steal a kiss and then ask for payback?”
Ethan’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Didn’t realize kissing my own girlfriend was considered stealing.”
Olivia choked on her words, caught in his gaze, her face heating up even more.
“Let me go first,” she managed to say.
But Ethan, seeing her flushed cheeks, only leaned in closer, teasing, “So, nothing for me? No trade?”
Olivia turned her head away. “Nope. Not a chance.”
Ethan sighed, sounding genuinely disappointed. “Guess I’m at a loss, then.”
Olivia spun back to glare at him, incredulous. “A loss? You’re unbelievable, you know that?”
He didn’t even try to deny it. “If you say so.”
She had to admit—she could never match Ethan Carter’s shamelessness.
Not wanting to push her too far, Ethan finally loosened his hold. Just as he was about to let go, footsteps echoed near the office door.
“Mr. Carter, why didn’t you—” The door swung open.
Evan Dale froze mid-sentence, eyes wide as he took in the scene—his boss and Olivia tangled up, clearly not talking business.
He quickly backpedaled, waving his hands. “Sorry, sorry! Didn’t see a thing. Carry on, you two!”
Olivia buried her face in her hands, mortified. “This is all your fault,” she muttered.
Ethan released her, not missing a beat. “Yep. All my fault.”
His easy agreement left her speechless for a second.
He glanced at her. “Ready to head out?”
