From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 180

She curled her lips into a sly smirk, shooting Olivia Bennett a glare that could cut glass.

There was only one thought running through her mind: ruin Olivia Bennett’s reputation.

If she could get Carlson Baker to hate Olivia, then why should she be the one to apologize?

In fact, Olivia would be the one in trouble.

Tick off Carlson Baker, and you could kiss your social life in Cabinda goodbye.

Carlson’s eyes narrowed. “You’re saying it’s about money and status?”

Claire Camp’s eyes lit up and she nodded eagerly. “Exactly! You barely know her, so of course you couldn’t see through her act. Don’t blame yourself. At least now you know—better late than never, right? Just cut your losses before she scams you any further.”

Carlson gave her a look, something between amusement and disbelief, and let out a short laugh. “It’d be a miracle if Olivia cared about my money or family name.”

Claire blinked, not quite processing what he meant.

That’s when he glanced over her shoulder and called out, “Right, Adelina?”

Adelina Lane had been standing behind them for a while, clearly catching on to the situation. She walked over to Claire, giving her a cool, measured look—one so intimidating it sent a chill down Claire’s spine.

Adelina turned away, stepping up to Olivia and taking her hand, her voice icy as she stared down Claire. “Funny, I had no idea that my Olivia was out here gold-digging after someone else’s money.”

Her words hit like a thunderclap.

The room fell silent, then erupted in shocked whispers.

“Wait, did she say Olivia is Mrs. Lane’s? That would make her Carter’s wife!”

“No way—I never heard he got married! But if Mrs. Lane says so, it must be true.”

“Exactly! That means Olivia is Ethan Carter’s wife. She was just here with Adelina to grab a snack, and now this drama happens.”
