She really hadn’t expected Ethan Carter’s mind to work in such a strange way—just saying she liked him was enough to make Olivia jealous.
She glared at him. “Quit looking so serious! I thought you didn’t even want to come out today. You know, I almost died of heartbreak.”
For a second there, she’d nearly told Ethan to just go home.
“I wouldn’t,” Ethan replied simply. “If you like me, you just do.”
Olivia Bennett couldn’t help but grin, pointing to a tree heavy with snow not far away. “Go stand over there. I want to snap a photo of you—I don’t think I’ve ever taken your picture before.”
Ethan didn’t protest; he just walked over.
Olivia raised her camera. “Move a bit to the right… too much, now left—a tiny step… relax your hands, you look like you’re being punished… and try to smile, you’re way too stiff…”
After way too much directing, Olivia finally managed to get a picture—barely.
She checked the shot. The composition was good, the snowy background looked beautiful, and Ethan himself? Well, he was handsome as ever, and that whole mysterious vibe was definitely there… but his expression? Not so much.
His face looked as cold as the snow beneath their boots.
It didn’t feel like a candid photo at all—more like something you’d see in the Wall Street Journal.
At least he looked meticulous and professional—a total success story in the making.
Thinking about it, she realized she’d never really seen any photos of Ethan before. “You don’t like having your picture taken, do you?”
Ethan didn’t deny it.
Olivia shrugged. “Honestly, you still look good like this.”
She let it go and put away her camera. That’s when Elaine Carter appeared, lugging a pile of supplies.
“Let’s make a big one! It’ll be perfect for pictures,” Elaine said, her eyes sparkling.
