From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 29

The Carters had already hired three extra people to help out with the cleaning and other household chores around the villa.

But ever since Olivia moved in, Ethan Carter asked Susan to come by every day to look after her, starting today.

So, Susan’s workload just got a whole lot busier.

Olivia had arranged to meet Helen Adams for lunch at eleven.

When Olivia arrived at the bistro, Helen was already there, sitting at a corner table.

“Olivia!”

The moment Helen spotted her, her whole face lit up in a grin that practically reached her ears. She jumped up and pulled Olivia into a quick, tight hug.

Olivia hugged her back, patting her friend’s shoulder, genuinely happy to see her.

After a couple of seconds, Helen noticed a few people glancing their way. Blushing a little, she quickly pulled Olivia down into the seat across from her.

“I’m just so happy to see you!” Helen whispered, trying to keep her voice down, but she couldn’t stop smiling.

Olivia smiled back, “Me too. It’s been way too long.”

Helen’s eyes sparkled as she tried to decide which of the million things in her mind to say first. Before she could, a waitress arrived with the first round of food—classic Caesar salads and a steaming bowl of tomato basil soup.

Helen had texted Olivia the day before to ask what she wanted and had everything ready to go, so they could just relax and chat.

She ladled some soup into a bowl and slid it over to Olivia. “So, did you get everything sorted out?”

Olivia nodded, “Yeah. Everything’s taken care of.”

The property deed was in her name now. Daniel Gill couldn’t use the studio to threaten her anymore.

Helen grinned. “So that means you’re coming back to the studio with me?”

For a second, Helen just stared at her, mouth hanging open. “Wait, seriously? Are you for real?”

Olivia laughed. “Completely. But that does mean I’ll need you to start getting things ready these next couple days.”

Helen nodded so hard she almost knocked over her water glass. “Of course! Heck, if you want, I’ll even give the whole place a makeover.”

Olivia tapped her chin, pretending to consider it. “You know, maybe it really is time for a renovation…”

Helen’s eyes went wide, and she looked at Olivia with a mixture of horror and hope. She knew Olivia was joking—she only teased like this when she was truly at ease.

And that meant Olivia really was okay.

“Alright, let’s eat,” Olivia said, grinning. “No renovations needed, I promise. But I’ll fill you in on the details after lunch, and you can get started this week.”

Helen relaxed and picked up her fork, ready to dig in. For the first time in ages, everything felt like it was falling back into place.
