From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 309

Suddenly, the sound of the door unlocking broke the silence.

Lavinia Bennett appeared in the doorway, wrapped in a fluffy bathrobe.

Daniel Gill’s eyes fluttered open. The tense energy that had hung in the air just moments ago seemed to vanish in an instant. He looked up at Lavinia, a gentle warmth softening his gaze.

Lavinia, beaming with excitement, made her way over to Daniel. Her voice was sweet and playful. “Daniel, I’m all done with my shower. You should go take yours!”

Daniel nodded, smiling at her. “Alright, I will.”

He stood up and headed into the bathroom. Soon, the sound of running water filled the air.

Lavinia’s gaze drifted to the big king-size bed, draped in crisp red sheets—a bold splash of color that made her lips curl into a mischievous smile.

She sat down at the vanity, dabbing a bit of moisturizer on her face, then picked up a bottle of gardenia-scented perfume and spritzed just a touch on her neck. The fresh floral scent hung softly in the air.

She smiled at her reflection, but then, as if remembering something, she turned and disappeared into the walk-in closet.

When she emerged, the white bathrobe was gone—replaced by a striking scarlet slip dress that hugged her curves in all the right places.

Once she’d made sure everything looked perfect, Lavinia glanced at the closed bathroom door, her heart thumping with a mix of anticipation and nerves.

She barely had time to calm down before the door swung open.

Her heart skipped a beat.

Daniel stepped out, still in his robe, his hair damp, water droplets trickling down his forehead.

“I’ll dry your hair for you,” Lavinia offered without hesitation.

Daniel didn’t object, settling into the seat at the vanity as she plugged in the hairdryer. His hair was short, so it only took her about ten minutes to get it completely dry.

Lavinia set the dryer aside and gently rested her hands on his shoulders from behind. Her voice turned uncharacteristically shy. “Daniel, tonight’s our wedding night.”

For a split second, Daniel’s fingers tensed, but he quickly relaxed, catching her gaze in the mirror. He reached up and took her hand. “Yeah,” he murmured.
