From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 53

“I’ve gotta be honest—seeing you here makes my stomach turn. Like you said, I opened this café to make a living, not to torture myself. So for the sake of my sanity, I won’t be taking your order.”

Olivia’s voice was as cool as a winter breeze, but every word dripped with sarcasm.

“You…”

Lavinia Bennett was caught completely off guard. She hadn’t expected Olivia to push back so sharply. Her face went pale with shock and anger.

Helen Adams, standing nearby, could only stare in disbelief.

In her mind, Olivia Bennett had always been the gentle type—smiling, polite, almost too sweet to ever raise her voice. She’d never seen this side of her before: sharp, fierce, like a hedgehog with its quills all sticking out, ready to defend itself.

Honestly? It was…

God, it was just so freaking cool.

Helen felt a rush of admiration. In her head, she gave Olivia a standing ovation.

That Lavinia woman was nothing but a troublemaker. If you didn’t stand your ground, she’d be walking all over you in no time.

With her confidence boosted by Olivia’s words, Helen straightened her back, marched right up to Lavinia, and said coldly, “You heard her. We’re not serving you. Please leave.”

She didn’t even bother with a fake smile or a polite gesture toward the door. Just a frosty glance—pure ice.

Lavinia was shaking with rage. She shot Helen a deadly glare and sneered, “Who do you think you are? You’re just a waitress—a tag-along for Olivia. How dare you talk to me like that?”

It was bad enough being brushed off by Olivia. But to be dismissed by some waitress? That was just too much.

This was unbearable. Lavinia had always looked down on Olivia, and now she was being handled like a misbehaving child in front of everyone.

“Let go of me, you bitch! Or I swear you’ll regret it,” she spat, baring her teeth, now trying to swing her other hand.

But Olivia was faster. She let go, gave Lavinia a hard shove, and sent her stumbling backward.

Wearing her three-inch stilettos, Lavinia couldn’t keep her balance. She crashed to the floor with a loud thud, yelping in pain and outrage.

Helen could only watch, wide-eyed.

But when she remembered Olivia was pregnant, her concern quickly replaced her awe. “Olivia, are you okay?”

Olivia brushed herself off, her expression calm. “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”
