From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 54

She hadn’t used much force—it was just that Lavinia Bennett, tottering in her sky-high heels, could barely handle a nudge before toppling over.

Helen Adams gave a curt nod, glancing down at Lavinia who was now shaking with fury on the floor. She stepped forward, spreading her arms protectively to shield Olivia Bennett behind her.

This crazy woman wasn’t about to give up that easily. This time, Helen was determined to keep Olivia safe.

And she was absolutely right.

Lavinia, still sitting on the floor, looked like she was about to lose it.

She couldn’t believe Olivia had actually laid a hand on her—and right in front of a waiter, no less. Being shoved to the ground? The humiliation was unbearable.

Lavinia had always been the one picking on Olivia, never the other way around. How dare Olivia get bold now, just because she’d left the Bennett family? Clearly, she’d forgotten her place.

Well, Lavinia wasn’t about to let her get away with it. Not today.

To make matters worse, she was the one who’d ended up on the floor, and instead of being apologetic, Olivia and Helen were fussing over each other, not even glancing her way. The disrespect!

Lavinia’s anger radiated off her in icy waves as she scrambled to her feet, brushing off her expensive cashmere coat. Her eyes were wild, lips pressed into a thin, trembling line.

“Did you just push me?” she hissed, her voice raw.

Olivia barely spared her a glance, about to reply, but Helen cut in with a snort, “Oh, come on. You just got up off the floor and you’re asking if we had the guts? Looks like you already got your answer.”

“As if I need your pity,” she spat, her eyes narrowing with contempt. “You’ve always been a world-class actress, Olivia. You expect me to believe you’re over Daniel? Yeah, right.”

“I believe her,” Helen piped up, standing tall, chest out.

She didn’t even know Daniel Gill, but the way they talked made it pretty obvious—he was the jerk who’d dumped Olivia and was now probably about to marry Lavinia.

Who cared? Olivia was gorgeous, smart, and already had her own family, her own life. If Daniel ditched her, that was his loss.

Helen shrugged. “What’s it to you, anyway?”
