Who would’ve thought–after some time, she pulled a thermal shirt out of Farm One, and then a pair of matching pants.
The moment she saw them, she almost cried.
Seriously? Thermal clothes? I already had those!
She would’ve rather kept the two slabs of Ganthera meat–who knew, maybe they had beauty or health benefits.
But when she finally put the outfit on, she realized how amazing it was.
She had been wearing that heavy mink coat for two days straight.
It was warm but bulky and hard to move in. So she decided to check her storage space again, hoping to find something more practical.
That’s when she found this set–made by the same mysterious source.
Once she slipped into it, it fit her body perfectly, soft and flexible like a second skin. It stretched easily when she moved.
Best of all–it was really warm.
Even though it looked no thicker than regular thermal attire, it was somehow cozier and much more comfortable than her mink coat.
And there was something even stranger. After she started wearing it, she noticed she didn’t feel as thirsty as before during her daily workouts.
That made her think of scenes from sci–fi movies, those suits astronauts wear in extreme heat, like in the middle of a desert, that keep your body at a stable temperature and recycle your sweat into water.
It was like that. Completely next–level.
So she named it the Thermal Suit.
Unlike those cheap temperature–control clothes sold in stores, this one actually did the job.
Outside, the snow was getting heavier every day.

Since they were living on the top floor, Caroline started worrying about something else–the building’s rooftop.
The building’s rooftop had a raised edge about three feet high, with another 1.5–foot safety rail above it. Years ago, there had been several accidents in Hornvale–people falling or jumping from rooftops–so most new buildings were designed with those extra barriers.
When the snow piled up, Caroline went to the rooftop to check. The surface was buried under thick layers of snow.
Unlike the acid rain or normal rainfall from before, this snow didn’t melt or drain away easily. The old rainwater could at least run through the pipes and gutters, but snow just kept stacking up. Once it got too heavy, it could crush the roof completely.
Realizing the danger, Caroline told Tyler and Kay that they needed to clear the snow off the roof together.
The others quickly agreed to the plan.
But the work was harder than they thought.
The rooftop door opened inward. When they pushed it, they found the whole outside storage area buried in snow. It was piled deep.
There was no choice. In the narrow hallway that led from the 66th floor to the roof, they started shoveling. Bit by bit they filled a small camping cart with snow. Then they rolled the cart down the corridor, lifted the snow up to the window, and tossed it outside.
Nobody talked much while they worked. Tyler kept his head down and shoveled without stopping.
Caroline even put Raven to work. She tied a few ropes to the cart and fastened them to Raven so he could pull.
Raven lowered his head and hauled the cart without a sound–surprisingly good at it. Four legs made the job easier than two,
They spent the whole afternoon doing that. By the end of the day they’d cleared only a small patch of the roof.
Everyone was exhausted–even Caroline.
She thought they could rest the next few days. Then someone knocked on the 66th–floor door.
This time it wasn’t one person at the door but a crowd.
