Chapter 120 The Man Named Dyson
Chapter 120 The Man Named Dyson
The gap between the two buildings was more than 30 feet wide.
The man leading the group stood on the other side, glaring at Caroline and her team in Building A.
“Haha! If you’ve got what it takes, why don’t you fly over here?” He shouted.
Caroline couldn’t help finding it funny.
“What’s your name?” She called back.
“I’m Dyson Cantrell–the same Dyson that makes hair dryers!” he yelled proudly.
Caroline and Tyler exchanged a look and both smiled.
Even at the end of the world, people like him still existed.
When the walkway between Building A and B was cut off earlier, they could have stopped it.
They knew exactly what the other side was trying to do, but they didn’t interfere.
For one, they still had enough supplies to last.
And two, Caroline could tell that this group wasn’t as weak as they pretended to be. They hid their strength behind smooth talk and fake smiles.
That man, Dyson, didn’t seem like the real leader either. Caroline could feel another presence.
Someone else was watching them from inside the building.
And whoever came up with the plan to destroy the bridge between the buildings and actually pulled it off–that took skill.
Working on the 40th story above the ground, jumping around with only a single rope for safety? That was no joke.
“Hey! You folks seem strong,” Dyson shouted again. “Let’s just mind our own business, alright? You don’t mess with us, and we don’t mess with you!”
Caroline looked across the gap at the small group standing together on the other side. She raised her hand and waved, agreeing to Dyson’s proposal to stay out of each other’s way.

Dyson grinned and shouted, “Hey, beautiful! But if you happen to like any of us, we’re totally open to dating!”
Caroline rolled her eyes and turned away. None of them bothered to respond.
They picked up the last of their supplies and started heading back upstairs. As they climbed, Caroline said to Kay and Tyler, “Didn’t he say they used to be office workers? Doesn’t really look like it.”
Tyler nodded slightly. “They probably came here after the acid rain.”
“How do you know?” Caroline asked.
“When we fought earlier,” Tyler said, “I ripped a few of their sleeves. Their skin was covered in acid scars–burns like they’d been out there for a long time.”
Caroline glanced at the side of Tyler’s neck, where a thin line of scar tissue showed above his collar. She nodded quietly.
“Look back,” Kay suddenly spoke up.
They were on the 62nd floor now, passing by the window next to the stairwell.
Through the glass, Caroline saw a woman standing in Building B, staring in their direction.
She was too far away to make out her face, but even across the distance, Caroline felt a strange pressure—a quiet, cold kind of strength.
That woman was powerful.
Caroline was almost certain she was the real leader of the group in Building B, not that loudmouth Dyson.
In fact, Dyson probably wasn’t even his real name.
For now, though, they had no reason to start a fight. It was better to keep their distance.
They quickly returned to the 66th floor and began sorting through the supplies they had brought back.
Caroline picked out some charcoal but didn’t take any wood.
Tyler grabbed a few bags of charcoal and a couple of small pieces of furniture.
They’d already cleared out most of their floor earlier, taking plenty of firewood then.
