Chapter 148 The Hidden RV
Chapter 148 The Hidden RV
:
Under Tyler’s command, the two of them and the dog reached a flat, open area.
“We’re here,” Tyler said.
Caroline looked around in disbelief.
All she could see was endless snow. There wasn’t a single sign of any vehicle tracks.

Without explaining, Tyler took out a folding shovel from the inflatable rescue boat. He walked around a bit, checking his position now and then, especially glancing at a tall building a few dozen yards away.
Finally, he began digging.
One shovel. Then another.
After about ten minutes, he had dug a hole nearly three feet deep.
And then, Caroline saw it–a window!
“H–how did you know this was near the edge of the building?” she asked in surprise.
Tyler shot her a sly grin. “All these days with no phone or computer, what do you think I’ve been doing? I’ve got the whole city’s layout and building plans memorized in my head by
now.”
After saying that, he kicked open the window and slipped inside.
Then there was dead silence.
Except for Raven’s breathing, Caroline could hardly hear a sound.
She had no idea what was happening to Tyler down there.
About 20 minutes later, she heard the low rumble of an engine below.
Her heart jumped. She looked around nervously, wondering how Tyler planned to come out.
Raven suddenly stood up, first looking to the right, then to the left, and finally, straight ahead.
Caroline’s eyes widened. What is Tyler doing in there? Going in circles?

Then came a loud buzz–followed by a loud bang and a deep boom.
Everything shook.

The moment Caroline realized something was wrong, she jumped into the inflatable rescue boat.
Raven, seeing her get in, grabbed the side with his teeth and pulled it away fast.
Caroline glanced back just in time to see a massive RV burst up from underground, smashing through several windows as it came out!
The ground caved in from the impact. The RV roared forward, engine screaming.
And behind Tyler was a swarm of giant cockroaches!
The sight of those crawling, writhing creatures made Caroline think of the insect disaster from her past life.
Luckily, the roaches only chased for a few dozen yards before retreating back underground.
Raven sprinted ahead, and Tyler followed close behind in the huge RV.
Before long, the two of them and the dog arrived back at the warehouse.
In the distance, they could see Dyson and his group driving away fast.
Because they were headed in different directions, Dyson’s team hadn’t seen them.
When they finally reached the front of the warehouse, Caroline took a closer look at the vehicle Tyler had found.
It was about 70 feet long, like a small tour bus. Inside, it was fully equipped, with tons of space.
Caroline had her own RV too, but this one was definitely fancier. It must’ve cost a few hundred thousand.
“This thing can probably haul the whole warehouse in one trip, huh?” she asked with a grin.
“One and a half,” Tyler corrected.
Caroline glanced in the direction Dyson’s group had gone. Remembering how arrogant they’d been earlier, she smirked. Sorry, guys, but we’re not holding back.
Without another word, she and Tyler started loading supplies.
