Chapter 163 Old Friends and Revelations
Chapter 163 Old Friends and Revelations
Caroline recognized this young soldier.
He was the one who had come with Niko when he visited Raven before.
Back then, he had said Raven saved his life.

Sure enough, when Raven saw the soldier, he got a little excited and wagged his tail a few times.
After the soldier finished shouting, he noticed the situation here.
At the same time, he saw Raven and Caroline inside the security door.
For a moment, he froze. “Lieutenant Richter, what’s going on?”
Niko felt very awkward.
He knew the medicine Caroline had given–the big barrel of water–worked.
But at the start, when someone in the unit got hurt and there wasn’t enough medicine, he had used it as a last resort.
He didn’t expect it would actually work.
Later, Nathaniel Bell got sick and was bitten by mutant animals, and they all went looking for medicine.
But Nathaniel’s illness wouldn’t get better.
That was when Niko gave Nathaniel the remaining barrel of medicine.
Unexpectedly, now there was news that Nathaniel was cured by the medicine Caroline delivered!
And Nathaniel wanted to thank Caroline personally.
Well…
Niko helplessly told the two soldiers beside him to lower their guns.
He awkwardly forced a smile. “Ms. Sinclair, looks like we need to have a proper talk.”

Caroline rolled her eyes in her mind. He must need something from me.

But Caroline, while not taking advantage of people, knew this account needed to be settled properly.
“Yes, we definitely need to talk.”
Caroline smiled brightly.
Caroline and the others followed Niko and a few soldiers to the 40th floor.
Niko planned to set this floor as the official base for the next refuge.
Caroline glanced around and saw that many rooms were already locked, and electricians were installing doors.
Probably, the military would move some supplies here later.
The soldier Raven had once saved was named Haroldson. He looked very happy to see Raven.
He even pulled a stick of sausage from his pocket to give to Raven.
At this point in the apocalypse, a sausage was a precious thing.
“Raven has food,” Caroline explained, feeling a little embarrassed.
Haroldson looked much thinner than before.
Even with heavy winter clothes, his small face was gaunt.
“Hehe, it’s fine. I’ve had this sausage for days, waiting to give it to Raven. After all, he saved my life.”
Haroldson really liked Raven. He patted Raven’s head and, at the stairway, fed the sausage to him.
While Haroldson was feeding Raven, the others went into a room, and Haroldson quietly said to Caroline, “Ms. Sinclair, just now when I went downstairs, I asked the two guys with Lieutenant Richter about what happened. They said … you had guns and even killed people?”
Caroline looked at Haroldson and didn’t answer.
She could tell he was innocent and really liked Raven.
But Niko’s attitude earlier made her cautious, so she couldn’t fully trust the young soldier.
