His eyes tumed red.

Under Mick’s whip, tears slipped down the dog’s face, freezing into tiny shards of ice in the frigid air.
“General, not listening again, huh? I’ll kill–Ahr
Mick did not even finish before General lunged at him, tearing off his head in one swift bite. Blood sprayed everywhere.
The rest of the men froze, dumbfounded. When they finally realized what had happened, they bolted in panic, but General charged forward, smashing through the barricade of tables and chairs, pouncing on them one by one.
In just seconds, every head was torn off, blood splattering across the snow.
Caroline was stunned by what was happening before her.
Beside her, Raven looked quite pleased with himself, strolling forward calmly through the path General had just cleared. He glanced back at her as if to ask, You coming or what?
Caroline looked from Mick’s headless corpse to the terrified men still being chased down by General, then back to Raven’s smug face. And suddenly, it all clicked. Raven had be threatening, or maybe controlling General.
He had made General turn on his masters.
Looking into Raven’s icy blue eyes, she saw a glimmer of intelligence that sent chills down her spine. She was almost certain with what she saw.
Caroline followed Raven, leaving the massacre behind.
The screams soon faded into silence.
When she turned around, she caught a faint pair of glowing green eyes watching them from the dark.
Even though she could not see the shape clearly, she knew it was General.
After a long pause, General finally disappeared into the night,
She did not know where he went, but anywhere was better than staying with those monsters.

Caroline stopped and patted Raven’s head, “We’ll have a talk when we get back huer?
Through Jet, of course, and with a generous supply of food waiting
After a while, Caroline and Raven reached their destination for the night.
They were near a freight hub, where a tall building stood beside the transport center
Most of the warehouses nearby were short, buried under layers of snow and acid rain.
Caroline sighed as she looked at the thick snow beneath her boots. What a shame.
But that was fine. From what she knew, most of the cargo was sealed in containers, airtight and resistant to corrosion.
Once the Deep Freeze passed and the ice melted, she could come back for it.
For now, she turned her gaze to the tallest building around.
It looked like an ordinary thirty–story apartment block, long abandoned and supposedly haunted.
People used to call it “the ghost building,” or “the ashes tower, because rumor had it that urns were stored inside, and that it was haunted by restless spirits.
In reality, though, the place had been used to cover up illegal dealings,
The contract Caroline found in that guy’s safe confirmed it. The building was full of hidden treasures and goods meant for export.
She smirked. “Guess I really owe that guy one for leaving this behind.”
Technically, it was illegal to use a residential high–rise as a warehouse because residential and commercial properties were supposed to be separate.
Apartments had cheaper utilities, after all.
duse
So, some online businesses would illegally rent residential units and use them for commercial purposes.
Yet, this guy went all out and rented an entire building just to run his operation.
Because it was close to the freight center, plenty of trucks would load up containers here and ship them to the nearby coastal city for overseas export.
