Raven drooped his head, looking sulky. His tail stopped wagging, and he didn’t even ask for

more treats.

Caroline smiled in satisfaction. Her threat had worked.

After finishing this floor, she eagerly went down another level.

Once again, the rooms were pitch–dark. No light at all.

She turned on her headlamp and soon reached the first room.

Inside was nothing but piles of cotton.

Even though the country had manufactured cotton, there was still demand for imports. These must have been from overseas.

Caroline collected it all in her storage space.

Then she moved to the second room.

But just as she was about to open the door, she felt a sudden tremor inside her storage space- sharp and urgent.

It wasn’t the kind of buzz that meant the space had found a treasure and was about to level up. This one felt different–more like Jasper was screaming inside her head. “Bos! Hurry! Get in here now!”

Caroline was shocked. “What’s going on?”

She and Raven instantly entered the storage space,

The moment she entered inside, something round and fast shot toward her face.

Caroline reacted on instinct–Smack!

A pitiful cry echoed. “Boss!”

Caroline heard the round thing let out a long, pitiful wail.

When she turned around, she saw Jasper crouched in the corner, looking completely defeated.

His fur was a mess–ruffled, dull, and sticking out in all directions.

“What happened?” Caroline asked curiously.

“T–that dinosaur egg!” Jasper stammered. “It won’t listen!”

Caroline blinked. “How can a dinosaur egg not listen?”

But Jasper wasn’t done; he continued to complain.

“The Cactus started fighting the Boxwood too!”

Caroline just stared at him and said nothing.

Boxwood was the stronger one–larger, higher in mutation level–but it had been buried under the ground, trapped by the storage space’s limits.

Jasper had tried to bury the cactus too, but the moment it saw Boxwood, it charged over and started a brawl.

While Jasper was still trying to stop them, the dinosaur egg began bouncing all over the place. That egg nearly smashed a hole through one of the houses inside the storage space!

Caroline helped Jasper bury the cactus first, then ran after the runaway egg.

Before she could catch it, Raven suddenly grew in size. He grabbed the struggling dinosaur egg in his jaws and trotted toward her.

But just as the egg was about to reach Caroline, it squirmed free again and bolted off.

Without a word, Raven dashed off again. His paws thudding against the floor, clearly thrilled by the chase.

A moment later, he came trotting back–eyes bright, tail wagging hard. A dinosaur egg clamped proudly in his jaws. He looked at Caroline, as if saying, “Human! Let’s play fetch!”

“This thing’s mutated,” Jasper muttered beside her, sounding annoyed. “You can actually keep

it in the ranch.”

Jasper’s usually calm face was now tight with irritation. His amber eyes locked on the egg he wanted to devour it with pure fury.

“Wait,” Caroline said in disbelief. “Wasn’t this a fossil? How can a fossil mutate?”

“Boss,” Jasper said, exasperated, “don’t you think the storage space itself and mutations are strange enough?”
