Raven was munching loudly on a piece of beef, not even bothering to look up. It’s just Tyler. What’s the big deal?

Caroline didn’t know what was going through his head.

She was busy in the bathroom, getting some spring water ready for a warm soak–for herself, Raven, and Jet.

It would help Jet’s wounds heal faster and restore their energy.

By the time they woke up from their bath, it was already eleven at night.

The water was still warm, thanks to the heating pad Caroline had placed under the tub.

The first thing she did when she woke was check Jet’s wings. She finally relaxed when she noticed a thin layer of soft fuzz growing back.

Feeling refreshed, she grabbed a cup of instant noodles and two boiled eggs, eating fast while still sitting in the tub.

Before leaving, she made sure Raven had a full meal. Then, she calmed down Jet, who was desperate to come along.

“When your wings are better, I’ll take you out, okay?”

Jet had done a great job today. Caroline knew his intelligence had grown; he could follow her orders now and keep secrets.

Still, his injured wings made her uneasy; because of this, she decided to leave him behind.

Jet whined for a long time, trying to prove he was fine. Even though he had just cried about his wings hurting when she picked him out of the tub, now he tried to flap them and fly a few circles around the room to prove they were fine.

Before he could take off, Raven smacked him down with one paw.

He lowered his face; blue eyes glinted coldly as he stared at Jet.

Three seconds later, Jet gave up with a sigh. “Fine, I’ll go next time.”

No one knew what Raven had just threatened him with.

Chapter 218 The Space Ring

Caroline patted Jet’s little head. “Watch the house, okay? We’re counting on you.”

Jet puffed up his chest proudly. “Don’t worry! I got this!”

Just like that, Caroline and Raven left the house.

Outside, Tyler was waiting.

He looked at Caroline seriously. “Before we leave, there’s something I need to show you.”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring–simple and old–fashioned.

Caroline’s pupils tightened.

She could feel her chest vibrating where her storage space was hidden. It was reacting to the space ring!

“This is … ” she asked, trying to feign ignorance while ignoring the strange pull from her chest.

Jasper was urging her to take the ring; he wanted to devour it.

Tyler explained, “This is the storage space the Lowlands have been searching for.”

Caroline looked up at him. “H–how did you get it?”

Tyler looked at her, a sly smile curving his lips. “You know,” he said, “your parrot got hurt because of me. I should take responsibility. This ring–I stole it from the Lowlands. They’ve been going crazy ever since, trying to find another storage space to replace it.”

Caroline froze, staring at him in disbelief. Her thoughts started racing. Why would Tyler reveal something so important to her?

If he really stole the ring from the Lowlands, wouldn’t they track him down?

And worse–did he know she also had a storage space? Was he testing her?

Before she could say a word, Tyler continued–and what he said next shocked her even more.

“Caroline, tonight’s mission is dangerous,” he said calmly. “If I die, find my body. Take this ring and look after Denton for me.”
