Wearing ice skates and with Raven at her side, Caroline zipped out of the area in a flash.
Once she was sure there was no one else around, she gave Raven a quick slap on the shoulder. “Raven!”
Raven instantly got the message and shifted into the size of a small pony.
Time to move.
Harry’s stash was a bit of a distance away, roughly 18 miles.
Caroline and Raven sped through the snowstorm for a long stretch before finally arriving at the site, a three recently built warehouses.
From a distance, they looked like small metal mountains, each more than 16 feet tall and stretching dozens of feet across. They were built from solid metal, tough and industrial.
In a world like this, building even one warehouse of that size was no small feat, let alone three. It was a clear sign of how much power Harry and the Lowlands still held, even after the fall. But now Harry was gone, and no one had come to clear the snow for days. The warehouses were already half–buried beneath thick white drifts.
Off to the side, Caroline spotted two heavily modified cargo trucks parked near the buildings.
Back before the apocalypse, she’d never bothered stockpiling trucks. Too big. Too bulky. Not worth the space.
But now that her storage space had been upgraded, taking in both trucks would be a breeze.
Caroline raised her eyebrows slightly, then casually stored both vehicles away.
She headed to the first warehouse and found a massive lock on the door. Reaching into her storage space, she pulled out a master key and unlocked it.
The moment the door creaked open, a strong smell of gasoline rushed out to meet her.
Her eyes
lit up. Caroline stepped inside with Raven and found the entire place packed–floor to ceiling–with barrels of fuel.
Caroline had been running low on fuel anyway. Before the apocalypse, getting her hands on gasoline hadn’t been easy.

Her original plan was to wait until the deep freeze ended, once the ice melted and the floodwaters receded, she was going to hit up a few gas stations for a round of zero–dollar shopping. But she hadn’t expected to find a fuel stash this good out here.
As she stepped further inside, she realized this wasn’t just a pile of regular gas. Alongside barrels of gasoline, there was a massive supply of diesel, every common grade of fuel you’d expect to find on the market was here, and a lot of it.
An entire warehouse full.
Clearly, Harry had been stockpiling like a pro.
In this world, diesel and gasoline were even more valuable than food.
Caroline had no idea how he’d gotten his hands on this much, but it didn’t matter now. It was hers.
She moved through the warehouse, loading barrel after barrel into her storage space until her arms were almost sore from the motion. By the time she’d cleared it out, she was practically dizzy from the effort.
With the first warehouse emptied, she headed straight for the second one.
Same routine, pop the lock, swing the door open. But the moment the door creaked open, a wave of rust–scented air hit her.
This place was nothing like the first. Inside, the contents were divided into roughly four main
sections.
Right up front were racks of firearms—assault rifles, pistols, grenades—enough for a small unit.
Two full crates of them, all neatly paired with matching ammo.
And at the very back, one crate stood apart from the rest. It was covered carefully with a camo tarp, almost like someone had gone out of their way to protect it.
Caroline walked over, pulled the tarp aside, and underneath it was a freaking cannon.
She didn’t quite recognize what kind of cannon it was, but it looked about the size of a car. The front turret was split into three barrels, the one in the middle was the biggest and thickest, while the two on either side were shorter, but they didn’t exactly look weak either.
Next to the cannon, Caroline spotted a crate of ammunition. There weren’t many shells, maybe just a little over 20 in total.
