Chapter 41 The Blueberry Bunny
The machine didn’t come with any instructions, so Caroline had no idea what it was for.
As for the storage area, it had turned into neat rows of small houses.
All the supplies were now perfectly organized, sorted into different sections.
The fog that used to cover the far end had also faded away, revealing a much larger area than before.
Caroline noticed a patch of grass fenced off like a big ranch.
The sight made her both excited and helpless.

Excited–because her storage space now had a ranch, which meant she could raise animals and never worry about running out of meat again.
Helpless–because she hadn’t prepared any live animals to raise.
As she rubbed her chin, thinking about whether she should go out while the rain wasn’t too heavy to buy some livestock, she suddenly heard a soft rustling sound behind her.
It startled her.
The storage space was always quiet, with only her footsteps echoing
After all, the only living beings inside were Caroline and Raven.
So when did something else get in here?
With one thought, her Tivara knife appeared in her hand.
She crouched and moved forward carefully, staying alert to every sound.
Whatever it was, it didn’t seem too smart. When she found it, it was hiding behind the villa.
Half of its furry butt was sticking out while its head was buried, trembling all over.
Caroline stepped forward and grabbed it by the scruff.
And there it was–an insanely chubby rabbit!
The rabbit’s fur was a soft cream color, not the usual white or gray.
Its mouth was tinted a strange blueberry blue, which looked both adorable and a little creepy.
It was much fatter and bigger than a normal rabbit, with a round, squishy belly that made it feel heavy in her hand.
Caroline flipped it over and checked. It was a female.
“How the heck did a rabbit get into the storage space?” she muttered under her breath.
Then she noticed something stuck to the rabbit’s rear–a small moisture–proof packet.

She pulled it off, frowning when she read the words printed on it: Do Not Eat. She had seen this packet before.
The rabbit kept shaking, clearly terrified and clueless.
After staring at it for a good ten seconds, Caroline suddenly realized what it reminded her of.
This rabbit… looked like the loaf of bread she buried in the black soil earlier!
That creamy–yellow fur–it was the exact color of bread.
And that blueberry–colored nose and those paws–weren’t those the blueberry filling?
Caroline froze.
Everything she thought she knew was falling apart.
The day’s storage space upgrade had brought Caroline far too many surprises.
Her head was about to explode. She quickly tossed the rabbit into the nearby ranch.
The little thing hopped around happily, munching on grass, and quickly adjusted to the environment.

At least someone was adjusting well. After thinking for a while, Caroline took out a loaf of bread and planted it into the glowing black soil.
She decided to give this mysterious, blue–shimmering land a name–Duskfield
As for the plain black soil next to it, she just called it Black Soil. Simple and clear.
Inside Duskfield, she didn’t stop at the bread. She planted a handful of seeds, a pack of cookies, and even a box of chocolates.
Just for fun, she also tossed in a piece of clothing. She planned to check the results in a few days.
In the regular black soil area, she sprinkled a few spinach seeds to test it out.
Then she walked over to the strange machine behind the house. After studying it for a bit, she decided to throw in a pillow.
The machine whirred to life the moment it sensed the object.
Within seconds, the pillow vanished–completely swallowed.
And then… nothing.
Caroline circled the machine twice, fuming. But nothing happened.
