Caroline was the only one who looked genuinely thrilled at the oversized decoration sitting on the checkout counter. The moment she got close, her storage space reacted. That thing could be upgraded!
While Kay and Tyler were struggling to drag down the inflatable raft, Caroline pretended to be interested in the cabinet, rummaging around like she was looking for supplies.
In truth, she slipped the ornament from the counter straight into her storage space while nobody was paying attention!
Right then, the jewel on her chest began to tremble before disappearing entirely!
Her heart almost leaped out of her throat. Seriously, what was going on? Was her storage space glitching again?
A bead of sweat rolled across her forehead.
She steadied herself and checked with her mind, finally letting out a breath of relief once she confirmed her storage space was still intact.
This thing was ridiculously unpredictable, suddenly shifting into a hidden storage space without warning! Just one tremor and done.
She had almost assumed her storage space was pulling another trick, or that ornament was cursed and had been swallowed forever.
But the shift in her storage space clearly told her that it had just leveled up again.
Caroline was thrilled, though there wasn’t time to explore what kind of upgrades had happened.
She grabbed a few supplies from the counter and cabinet, including a bag of pasta, some millet, and a sack of mung beans the store owner had kept there. She left the spoiled tomatoes and vegetables behind.
By then, Kay and Tyler had already finished moving the inflatable raft.
After a short talk, Tyler packed up their rubber dinghy and decided the group would take a
boat back.
There were still plenty of sports goods left in the shop; ice skates, gloves, golf clubs, windbreakers, and other gear.

Chapter 82 Thinking Ahead
:
Kay picked up a golf club, saying she’d carry it for protection.
She glanced at the ice skates and selected a pair.

When she noticed Caroline choosing skates too, her eyes lit up. “Caroline, that’s brilliant! If you can skate, it’s way quicker than running, and you can dodge things easily. Perfect for escaping!”
After that, Kay grabbed a pair in her own size as well.
Tyler walked over and chose a pair too.
Caroline watched them with quiet amusement. Once the freezing weather hit, skates would definitely prove useful. At least these two were thinking ahead.
After they cleared out most of the store, they stepped outside.
While the others weren’t watching, Caroline tucked the leftover golf clubs, windbreakers, and extra skates into another smaller purple storage space.
Her main storage space was in the middle of upgrading and unusable, but she’d already guessed that might happen, so she brought a backup storage space as insurance.
The mall itself was massive, but the supermarket section had already been looted, most likely by locals hunting for supplies.
Especially the aisles with drinks and food, they were practically stripped bare.
But unexpectedly, while the shelves were empty, the warehouse stock hadn’t been touched.
After some searching, they came across a small door tucked in a supermarket corner. Kicking it open, they found the room stacked with goods.
Kay was so hyped she could hardly speak clearly.
She darted inside, grabbed a water bottle, twisted it open, and drank greedily.
She was clearly parched.
But thinking about it, even after spending the past couple of days together, Kay had never once asked Caroline or Tyler for food or water.
Caroline’s opinion of Kay rose even higher.
Tyler was already hauling heavier supplies from the stockroom and stuffing them into bags.
