His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 107

Lumina’s fingers curled unconsciously around the hem of her blouse, a small smile playing at her lips. “You should probably ask her that yourself.”

He nodded, understanding, and stood up with the file in hand. “In an hour, I’ll take you to pick out a dress.”

With that, he strode from the office without looking back.

A little while later, Hilton appeared with coffee and a box of pastries—her favorite from Lee’s Pastry.

Lumina’s eyes lit up. She picked up a red bean puff and took a bite. The delicate sweetness melted on her tongue—it was still warm. Instantly, all the annoyance from her earlier sparring with Cedric vanished.

“Hilton, you went to all that trouble to stand in line for me? I know this place is always packed—they say you have to wait for hours.”

Hilton smiled faintly. “It wasn’t me. Mr. Royce knows you love these, so he bought out the branch near our office two weeks ago. You haven’t been in, so you didn’t know.”

At that, the pastry suddenly lost its appeal. Lumina set it aside carelessly.

Hilton seized the moment. “Honestly, Mr. Royce just wants you to come back. Your office has been left just as it was.”

Lumina had heard this speech a hundred times and had no patience for it. She waved him off, annoyed. “Don’t you all have a meeting soon? Go on then, I want to rest for a while.”

Without waiting for a reply, she slipped into Cedric’s private lounge as if she owned the place.

She flopped onto the bed, stretching out with a contented sigh. After a while, drowsiness crept over her. She yawned and, before she knew it, drifted off to sleep.

She had no idea how much time had passed before the office door clicked open.

Cedric entered, followed by Hilton and a junior staffer, who was rattling off the meeting minutes. Cedric took a seat at the desk, half-listening, when a faint murmur floated in from the adjoining room. It was a woman’s voice—soft as a dream, barely audible.

The junior staffer darted a glance at the lounge. Mr. Royce’s private lounge. A woman’s voice coming from inside. That said it all. He kept his mouth shut, doing his best to appear oblivious.

Cedric gave the lounge a cool glance, then closed the file in front of him. “That’ll be all. You can go.”

Once the room was empty, he finally stood and went into the lounge.

Inside, Lumina was sprawled across his king-sized bed, sound asleep.

Her blouse had ridden up, exposing a pale stretch of her back. Cedric’s lips curved into a faint smile. He tugged her shirt down, pulled a blanket over her, then gathered her into his arms, patting her gently. “Time to get up.”
