Soren was taken aback, his light brown eyes narrowing in surprise.

Her face was delicate and striking, framed by arched brows and almond-shaped eyes that sparkled with mischief, lending her an alluring charm that was hard to ignore. Even her hair seemed unusually fine, silky strands cascading gracefully down to her neck.

As Soren’s gaze drifted lower, he felt a subtle tightening in his throat and forced himself to look away. He couldn’t help but notice what she was—or wasn’t—wearing beneath that bathrobe.

Yet, Lumina didn’t seem the least bit flustered at being discovered. She simply smiled, calm and beguiling, and raised a finger to her lush red lips. “Shh, be quiet.”

Her voice was naturally soft and refined, words rolling off her tongue like a caress, as if whispering an intimate secret right beside his ear.

Somehow, a single note from her sent a shiver straight through his heart.

Soren pressed his dry lips together, nodding. “Alright.”

He still held the curtain in his hand, reluctant to let it fall, unable to resist stealing another glance at her captivating face. Those glassy, light brown eyes of his shimmered with a wild, masculine longing.

He cleared his throat, voice rough. “Are you part of the staff?”

Lumina shook her head.

“A member of the Royce family, then?”

She smiled, teasing, “Have you ever seen me at a Royce family gathering, Mr. Royce?”

He shook his head honestly. “If I’d met a woman as beautiful as you, I’d definitely remember.”

It was both a compliment and a hopeful overture.

Lumina laughed lightly. “Me? I’m just a nobody working at Royce Group. I was playing with the cat under the table and lost track of time. Then you all came in so suddenly, I had no choice but to hide.”

Soren stared for a moment, then broke into a bright, genuine laugh, covering his mouth. “You’re far more interesting than I expected.”

Lumina’s gaze drifted over his casual vest and the light trousers, noticing a smear of mud on the fabric. “Are you an equestrian?”
