Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 160

As she talked, she casually brushed her hair back, making sure her diamond bracelet caught the light. It sparkled so brightly it was almost hard to look at.

“Oh, right, Amelia, I haven’t had a chance to congratulate you yet. Rose Queen last night—impressive.” Kristen gave her a polite smile. “But honestly, Ryan’s a genius. He spent thirty-three million at his own club, all that money just circling back to him, and he made sure everyone noticed.”

Amelia kept quiet.

So, The Hollow Beat was actually Ryan Packman's place.

Kristen’s words sounded sweet, but Amelia could hear the undertone. Last night wasn’t her win. It was just Ryan Packman getting bored and deciding to have a little fun.

And she’d just happened to be the toy he picked.

Amelia stared at Kristen’s face—pretty, soft, and totally fake. Suddenly, she stepped closer. Kristen didn't move, just watched her calmly, lips curved in a smile that never reached her eyes.

Amelia reached into her pocket and pulled out the pearl earring the waitress had given her earlier.

“This is yours, isn’t it, Ms. Watts?”

Kristen stayed perfectly calm. “Yeah, it is. I dropped it here last time I came with Salmeron. He gave it to me for my birthday last year—South Sea pearl, practically impossible to replace. Would’ve been such a shame to lose it.” She smiled and held out her hand. “Thanks for finding it, Amelia.”

But Amelia didn’t hand it over. She just flicked her wrist and tossed the earring straight out the window.

Kristen’s smile vanished. “Amelia, what are you doing?”

Amelia didn’t answer. Instead, she turned her back, went over to the sink, and washed her hands like she’d just touched something disgusting.

“Ms. Watts.” Amelia looked at Kristen in the mirror while drying her hands with a paper towel. “You and Clive come here a lot, right? So what do the staff call you?”

Kristen didn’t say a word.

Amelia turned around, slow and easy, her eyes full of sarcasm. “It was my first time here, but everyone called me Mrs. Salmeron. You’ve been here with Clive dozens of times—has he ever introduced you to anyone?”

She walked past Kristen, paused, and casually tossed her crumpled paper towel into the trash.
