Amelia kept her eyes forward as she walked past the second R&D department, heading straight for Clive’s office.

Inside, Lena stood by the window. She spotted Amelia out of the corner of her eye, then slid a finger through the blinds for a better look at Amelia’s back as she walked away. Lena grinned, clearly pleased with herself.

“Wow, Kristen, looks like someone’s off to complain to Salmeron,” Lena said, her voice thick with sarcasm.

Will was standing next to Kristen, flipping through her draft proposal. He glanced up at Lena’s comment, his brows knitting together. “You mean Mrs. Salmeron?”

Kristen had filled him in on the basics on their way over.

Last time they’d had dinner, Will learned all about Mrs. Salmeron using her connection to Salmeron to force her way onto Kristen’s project. Kristen, always thinking of the bigger picture, had agreed to work with her for the sake of the company.

She’d even offered to let Mrs. Salmeron take the lead and was willing to be her assistant.

But even that wasn’t enough for her.

Kristen just sighed. “She’s probably mad that Salmeron let our department use the new equipment first.”

Will almost laughed at how shameless Mrs. Salmeron was.

She was just a pretty face coasting through the office on a man’s coattails, yet she still managed to be dissatisfied.

He hadn’t even met Mrs. Salmeron yet and he already couldn’t stand her.
