Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 415

Will clenched his fist under the table so hard he thought he might actually break something.

Ryan’s smug, teasing voice instantly dragged up an old memory Will would rather forget. That night—the voice on the phone with Amelia—could it really have been him?

Will’s eyes narrowed just a fraction. He met Ryan’s challenging stare and managed a cool, practiced smile. “I think I’ll pass on your blessing, Mr. Packman. Who knows what the future holds, right?”

Even Amelia, usually oblivious to tension, could feel the weird vibe between the two men. Something was definitely off here. She just wanted to finish her meal and get out as quickly as possible.

The food kept coming, one dish after another, and for a while, everything seemed normal. Will played the perfect gentleman, serving soup, offering her dishes, even sliding over a plate of fish, bones already picked out.

It felt a little too attentive. Amelia was about to politely refuse when she saw Will do the same for Timmy, handing him another plate with the bones all removed.

So maybe he was just being considerate to everyone at the table. Relieved, Amelia picked up her fork, ready to try the fish—only for Ryan to reach over and slide the entire plate away from her.

Amelia blinked. “Excuse me?”

Ryan didn’t even look her way. Instead, he looked straight at Will and flashed a sly smile. “You really know me, Mr. Dillion. Picking out the bones for me? That’s thoughtful.”

Amelia stared at him, dumbfounded. Was he serious?

Dinner finally neared its end, and Amelia was just starting to feel hopeful about leaving when, out of nowhere, the hall lights dimmed. The front manager took the stage, mic in hand.

“Alright, dear guests, it’s time for tonight’s event. If you’re seated in the hall, you’re automatically part of the activity. Please stay until we’re finished.”

Amelia groaned inwardly. How could she have forgotten about this? She braced herself for whatever was coming.

Thankfully, the first activity wasn’t too bad. A server went around handing out questionnaires to each table.

The manager explained, “There are twenty questions about the lady at your table—her favorite flower, her favorite song, her favorite season, that sort of thing. Both the men and the lady should answer. The table with the most matching answers wins the round. If you win two rounds in a row, there’s a special surprise waiting!”

When the server reached their table, she looked a little starstruck. She glanced at Will—who was seriously good-looking—then at Ryan, who, honestly, was even more so. Finally, she looked at Amelia with pure envy.

“Who should I give the questionnaire to?” she asked, unsure.

Before Amelia could answer, both men reached out and grabbed a sheet at the same time.
