Chapter 154
Alpha Ethan’s Pov
I went back to my room, anger bubbling over so violently I could feel it in my veins. My fists were clenched, my breathing harsh.
I couldn’t believe I thought she had forgiven me thought we could at least try to move past the chaos. All this time, I had convinced myself that maybe, just maybe, we were making progress.
But no.
Now I see the truth.
She was just playing with me.
Shit. Was I really this blind?
My chest rose and fell as I slammed my fist on the table beside my bed.
The sharp crack of wood breaking echoed in the room, but I didn’t care. Whoever that bastard was… whoever had touched her… whoever she had been with… I was going to make him regret every single breath he had taken in my pack lands.
I paced the length of my room like a caged beast, my mind going over every interaction, every moment we had shared these past few days.
Every smile. Every glance. Every word. Now all of it felt like a lie.
My wolf was restless inside me, pacing just like I was. Ethan… his voice came low and warning, but I ignored him.
“I can’t do this in the pack house,” I muttered under my breath, raking my fingers through my hair. The walls suddenly felt too close, the air too thick.
I needed space before I ripped this place apart. I walked to my closet, pulled off my shirt, and changed into a dark fitted T–shirt and jeans. Something comfortable. Something I could breathe in.
I grabbed my keys and headed for the door.
The servants I passed along the hallway greeted me politely, but I ignored them. My steps were too quick, my mind too clouded for pleasantries.
My wolf’s agitation was starting to blend with mine, and I knew I had to get out before I lost it completely.
When I reached my car, my driver approached with his usual bow.
“Alpha, I’ll-”
“I’ll drive myself,” I cut him off sharply. His lips parted, like he wanted to protest, but the look I gave him shut him up instantly.
Without another word, I unlocked the car, slid behind the wheel, and started the engine.
The road blurred past me as I drove out of the territory, the rumble of the engine barely calming the storm in my head.
I didn’t have a destination in mind at firs–I just needed to go. But then, almost on instinct, I found myself heading for the club on the outskirts of the city.
I needed a distraction.

Chapter 154
I needed noise, alcohol, and the kind of company that didn’t demand explanations.
When I pulled up outside, the neon lights of the place glared against the night. I stepped out, pocketing my keys, and walked in. The bass from the music hit me like a wave, mingling with the scent of liquor, perfume, and too many bodies in one place.
The club was filled with high–ranked wolves. That was why they had to conceal their identities here–especially me. The Alpha King showing up in a place like this would set tongues wagging. I kept my hood low, moving to a shadowed corner where I could see the room without
being seen.
I ordered a drink. Downed the first glass in seconds.
Then another.
The burn of the liquor was nothing compared to the fire in my chest, but it dulled the edges enough for me to breathe without wanting to break something.
That’s when she appeared a sub.
Young, attractive, clearly aware of the kind of attention she drew. She walked up to me with that look–one I’d seen before on women who wanted to see if they could tame an Alpha for a night.
At first, I wasn’t interested. I had no patience for flirting games right now. But then…
I remembered Raven.
I remembered the look in her eyes when she denied everything, the quiet defiance in her voice. I remembered the image of the letter in her hands it burned in my mind. And suddenly, a cruel thought slithered in.
Why should she be the only one who could cross the line?
I looked the sub in the eye and said, “Come here.”
She hesitated only for a second before obeying. I motioned for her to sit on my lap, and when she did, I asked her to dance.
She agreed with pleasure, moving with practiced skill, her hips swaying in rhythm to the bass thundering through the club. Her scent was strong, her body warm. I held her waist tightly, feeling the soft curve of her ass as she moved against me.
A growl of satisfaction rumbled from my chest–not the kind of growl I gave Raven, full of hunger and something deeper. This one wollow.
Mechanical.
Still, I didn’t stop her.
For a moment, guilt pricked at the back of my mind. My wolf stirred uneasily, muttering, This isn’t the way. But I brushed it away.
When the music ended, she stood up to leave, but caught her wrist.
“You’re mine for the night,” I said flatly. “You’re coming home with me.”
Her lips curved in a small, knowing smile. “As you wish, Alpha.”
I paid the bartender and led her outside to my car. She told me her name was Sandra on the drive, but that was the only word spoken between us. The rest of the ride was heavy silence.
My wolf kept muttering in my head. Even if she cheated, Ethan, this isn’t the answer.
“Shut up,” I snapped at him inwardly. “My mind’s made up.”
