Raven’s POV

“What the hell is the meaning of this?” I demanded, stepping out from the shadows where I had been hiding, my voice shaking with anger and disbelief.
Olivia turned slowly, her lips curling into a smile that made my stomach churn. “What does it look like I’m doing, Raven?” she asked, her tone cold and mocking.
I clenched my fists, glaring at her. “Why do you have Alpha Ethan’s sister with you?” I asked sharply, my gaze shifting briefly to Elisa, who stood there looking confused and frightened.
Olivia tilted her head, chuckling darkly. “Now, that’s a good question,” she said. “You know, when I told you I was going to have my revenge, I thought you didn’t believe me. Guess what? You were wrong.”
Her words struck me like ice. I swallowed hard, forcing my voice steady. “You didn’t tell me you were going to drag an innocent p want revenge, Olivia, it should be between you and me–not her.”
his. If you
Olivia smirked, her eyes gleaming with malice. “Oh, Raven,” she laughed, low and chilling. “If I don’t implicate you, where’s the fun in that? Where’s my gain?”
“Why?” The question tore from my throat before I could stop it. My voice cracked under the weight of my pain. “Why do you hate me this much, Olivia? What did I ever do to you?”
For the first time, her smile faltered, and a storm raged in her eyes–hatred so deep it made my chest ache.
“You really don’t know?” she asked softly, then her voice rose like a whip, sharp and venomous. “You were always first, Raven! Always! Even though we were born on the same damn day, you came out first. Everyone looked at you like you were special, while I was the afterthought. Do you have any idea how that feels? To live in your shadow from the moment I took my first breath?”
I stared at her, stunned. “Olivia…”
But she wasn’t finished. Her words poured out like poison she had been storing for years.
“And then–then you got mated to the Alpha King.” Her voice broke, twisting with pain and rage. “The one person I have been dreaming of since I was fifteen! The man I prayed to the Moon Goddess for every single night! Do you know what that did to me? But you and dad took him away from me for six years. Isn’t that not enough for you?My throat closed, but I forced words past the lump. “So this is about that? About him?”
Her laughter was bitter, like broken glass. “It’s about everything! You took everything from me–my pride, my dreams, my mate!”
I shook my head, tears stinging my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. “You’re wrong, Olivia. I never took anything from you. The Moon Goddess made her choice, not me. You were just some spoiled brat who thought the world owed her everything.” My voice hardened, anger flaring. “And you know what? I don’t care about you anymore. I thought maybe just maybe you would change. That you’d stop this childish obsession. But I was wrong.”
Her face twisted with anger. “Wrong?” she spat. “No, Raven. The only one who’s wrong is you for thinking you could ever have a happy ending after what you’ve done to me.”
Before I could reply, her hand moved, and from behind her back, she pulled something that made my blood run cold. A gun. She aimed it straight at Elisa’s head.
“No!” I screamed, panic flooding me. “Olivia, don’t do this! She has nothing to do with this!”
Olivia’s eyes flickered with cruel armusement. “Goodbye, little princess,” she whispered, and then she pulled the trigger.
The gunshot shattered the night like thunder, Elisa’s scream died in her throat as her body crumpled to the ground, blood pooling beneath her head.
“No!” My knees buckled as I fell beside her, my hands trembling as they pressed against her wound. “Elisa! Stay with me! Please!” Tears blurred my vision, hot and relentless, mixing with the blood staining my hands.

Footsteps thundered from behind. Two guards appeared, their faces pale as they took in the sight of Elisa on the ground, a gun lying next to me, and Olivia standing there with that twisted smirk.
“What happened here?” one of them demanded, his voice sharp with panic.
Before I could speak, Olivia’s voice rang out, calm and convincing. “She brought us here,” Olivia said smoothly, pointing at me, “and threatened to kill me if I didn’t help her get revenge on Alpha Ethan. When I refused, she shot Elisa.”
“That’s a lie!” I cried, my voice breaking as sobs racked my chest. “That’s not what happened!”
But then I caught sight of the second guard. His eyes were closed, his lips moving silently. Mind–linking. He’s telling someone. He’s telling Ethan.
Rage consumed me. My hand shot out, grabbing the gun from the ground, I stood, my entire body trembling as I pointed it straight at Olivia’s chest.
