Chapter 159
Alpha Ethan’s POV
The moment the mindlink hit me, I was gone.
My paws tore through the earth as I ran, faster than I ever had in my life.
Trees blurred into streaks of green and black around me, the cold night air slashing at my fur, but I didn’t care. I couldn’t care. My heart pounded like a war drum in my chest, each beat screaming one name.
Elisa.
What the hell was she doing here?
She was supposed to be in California–safe, happy, far away from the storm I had created here.
I made sure of it. I sent her there so she would never have to be part of this mess, never have to see the monster I’d become. And now… now the guards had called me with voices laced with panic.
“Alpha, it’s Elisa… you need to come. Now.”
Those words had sliced through me like a blade.
I pushed harder, my muscles screaming in protest, my claws ripping into the damp soil as I surged forward. The wind roared in my ears, mingling with the pounding of my own heart.
Then I smelled it.
Blood.
The metallic tang slammed into my senses, and my wolf snarled deep in my chest. It wasn’t just blood–it was a massacre.
My stomach twisted violently, and something inside me cracked.
Please, Moon Goddess, no. Don’t let it be Elisa.
I ran harder, the forest rushing past me in a blur of darkness and moonlight, until finally, the spot the guards mentioned came into view.
I skidded to a halt, claws digging furrows into the dirt as I shifted back to human form, chest heaving, sweat slicking my skin despite the night chill.
And then… I saw her.
Olivia.
Her body lay sprawled across the forest floor like a broken doll, her clothes soaked in blood. Her golden hair, usually so perfectly kept, was tangled and
Imatted with crimson.
Her eyes stared blankly at the stars above, frozen in an expression I couldn’t read.
Beside her was another body–one of my guards, his throat ripped open.
I stood there, staring, my mind refusing to process what I was seeing. My lungs burned, but I couldn’t breathe. My hands curled into fists at my sides, shaking violently.
Olivia.
Dead.

Chapter 159
Anger surged through me like fire, but it was smothered almost instantly by an even colder fear.
Where was Elisa?
“Elisal 1 roared, my voice cracking the night like thunder. My call echoed through the trees, but there was no answer.
I staggered forward, scanning the ground for any sign of her. Nothing. Nobody. No blood trail, No scent strong enough to follow.
My chest heaved as I reached for the mindlink. Where the hell are you?! I snarled at the guards, my voice trembling with barely contained rage.
Alpha… we’re on our way. We had to secure someone
Someone? I roared through the link, the sound feral even in thought. You left my sister?!
There was a pause, then a shaky voice: Alpha, please, just wait. We’re coming now.
I cut the link, my vision swimming red as I began pacing like a caged beast. My hands raked through my hair, tugging hard enough to hurt, but it didn’t matter. Nothing mattered except finding Elisa.
Shot. They said she was shot. In the head.
No. No, I would have smelled it. I would have found her. I refused to believe it.
The sound of movement behind me snapped my head up. Footsteps. Voices. And then… them.
Two guards stumbled into the clearing, their faces pale, their clothes stained with dirt and blood. And between them…
A body.
A woman, dragged like a discarded rag doll.
When they came into the moonlight, my heart stopped.
Raven.
Her dark hair clung to her blood–smeared face, her clothes torn and soaked crimson. Her skin was ghostly pale, her lips slightly parted as if she’d tried to speak before slipping into unconsciousness.
For a heartbeat, the world tilted. I couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think.
“What the hell happened here?” I demanded, my voice raw and dangerous. “TALK!”
The guards froze, exchanging nervous glances before one finally spoke, his voice trembling.
“Alpha… we heard gunfire near the eastern border and ran here. When we got here…” He swallowed hard, his eyes darting to Olivia’s lifeless form before meeting mine again. “We saw Elisa. She was already shot. In the head.”
My knees nearly buckled. I gripped a tree to stay upright, my vision blurring.
No. No, not Elisa. My baby sister. The girl who used to run through these woods laughing, who wore flowers in her hair and called me her hero. Shot.
Gone.
The guard continued, oblivious to the agony ripping me apart. “And Miss Raven… she had the gun.”
My head snapped up, eyes blazing. “What?”
“Yes, Alpha. When Olivia told us the truth about what happened recently, about how miss Reven asked Olivia to help her get revenge on you–and Olivia refused… she shot Olivia. And thery her mate.”
Chapter 159
The words hit me like a blade to the gute
For a moment, everything went silent. My pulse roared in my ears, my fists clenched so tightly my nails cut into my palms.
“No,” I whispered. Then louder, my voice cracking like a whip: “NO!”
The forest shook with my roar, birds exploding from the treetops in a frenzy. The guards flinched, fear etched into their faces.
“This can’t be true!” I thundered, my chest heaving as rage and disbelief collided inside me like two
o storms.
1 lunged forward, grabbing the nearest guard by his collar and slamming him against a tree so hard the bark splintered. “Where. Is. Elisa?!” I bellowed, my face inches from his..
“Alpha–Alpha, we left her here when we chased Raven!” the guard stammered, his voice quivering.
“You WHAT?” The words were a snarl, pure venom.
“We thought she was gone already,” he whispered, his eyes wide with terror. “We didn’t want to lose Raven too,
Something inside me snapped. I shoved him away with a force that sent him crashing to the ground.
