I was scared flying alone with Derick, but I had come a long way, and I couldn’t back out now.
My heart kept beating fast as he took my hand and led me toward the jet.
The jet looked big on the outside, but I had no idea how it would look inside. When the door opened and I stepped in, I froze. My eyes grew wide.
It was nothing like I imagined.
The inside looked like a mini house.
The floor was soft under my shoes, covered with cream carpet. There were soft leather seats, shining and new.
On one side was a small table with flowers on it, and the walls had lights that glowed warm and calm. I walked further, and my breath caught when I saw a small bedroom with a wide bed dressed in white sheets.
Beside it was a fridge full of drinks and fruits, and even a bathroom with a shiny toilet and sink.
“Derick… this is… beautiful,” I whispered.
He gave a little smile. “I told you, Raven. I only want the best for you.”
I sat close to him as we buckled up. The jet engine made a loud sound as it came alive. My chest tightened, and I quickly reached for his hand.
“It’s okay,” he whispered, giving my fingers a squeeze.
The jet moved, then rushed forward, and suddenly the ground fell away.
My stomach twisted as the jet climbed higher and higher into the clouds. I held on to Derick’s hand so tightly
I thought I might break it. He didn’t complain. He just let me.
When the jet finally leveled in the sky, I slowly let go of him. My palms were sweaty, and I pressed them against my gown.
I turned to the window, staring at the wide blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. It felt unreal. Like a dream I had never expected to live.
For a long while, neither of us spoke. The silence felt heavy but not uncomfortable. Just strange.
Then Derick broke it. “We should keep ourselves busy,” he said, his voice light but sure.
I turned to him slowly. “Busy? Doing what?”
He leaned back in his seat and looked at me. “There’s a game section here. A kitchen. And even a small cinema. What do you want to try first?”

I blinked at him, shocked. “A.. cinema? On a plane?”
He nodded with a smirk. “Yes. On this plane.”
I shook my head in disbelief, a tiny laugh escaping my lips. “This is too much.”
Then my stomach growled, loud enough for him to hear. My checks burned.
“I think I want the kitchen,” I admitted softly. “I’m hungry.”
“Then the kitchen it is,” Derick said with a small smile. He stood up and offered me his hand.
I took it, and he led me to the small kitchen. It was neat and shiny, with a stove, pans, and everything needed.
“Sit,” he told me, pointing at a stool by the counter.
I raised a brow. “Wait… you know how to cook?”
He chuckled. “Just sit and watch me work. You’ll see.”
So I sat, folding my hands in my lap, still unsure. My eyes followed him as he moved around the kitchen with
ease.
He washed his hands, pulled out ingredients from the fridge, and began cutting vegetables like he had done it a thousand times.
I tilted my head, watching him closely. His hands were strong but careful.
His movements are smooth and steady. There was no rush, no clumsiness. He looked… at peace.
I didn’t expect this. Derick, the man who always seemed so serious and powerful, was standing in front of me making food like a chef.
A smile tugged at my lips before I even knew it. For a moment, I forgot my fears. I just watched him.
It took him nearly an hour, but finally, he turned with two plates.
On them was creamy pasta salad, fresh and steaming, with herbs sprinkled on top.
Beside it were two glasses filled with colorful cocktails.
“Dinner is ready,” he said with a small bow, as if he were a server in a fancy restaurant.
I giggled softly. “You’re ridiculous.”
He smirked. “Taste first. Then you’ll thank me.”
We sat at the small table in the jet. I took a bite of the pasta, and my eyes went wide. It was rich, creamy, soft, and full of flavor. My mouth watered for more.
“This is… so good!” I said, covering my lips with my hand. “It’s the best pasta I’ve ever had.”

Derick looked at me, pride shining in his eyes. “I’m glad you like it.”
I tried the cocktail next. It was sweet and tangy, cold and refreshing. My whole body felt warm and light after drinking it.
“This… this is amazing,” I said. “Derick, you’re full of surprises.”
He chuckled. “I told you to trust me.”
We ate together, sharing small smiles, sometimes teasing, sometimes quiet.
