Chapter 213

Reven’s Pov

After three hours in the air, we finally landed. I let out a long, shaky sigh of relief, realizing only then how tightly I had been gripping the armrest all through the flight.

My knuckles ached from how stiff I had held them, and my lips were dry from whispering silent prayers. Air travel always made me nervous, but being pregnant now made it ten times worse. Every little turbulence had me clutching my stomach and whispering to the tiny lives inside me.

Please stay safe, my darlings. Mummy is here. Soon we’ll be home.”

Derick noticed, of course. He always did. Without a word, he reached over during the flight and covered my trembling hand with his warm, steady one.

That small gesture had kept me sane all through. Now, as the plane finally stilled on the runway, I felt like I could breathe again.

The stairs were rolled up to the private jet, and as the doors opened, the crisp air of the city hit my face. I hesitated, my heart pounding, before standing. Derick was already by my side, offering his hand.

I held onto him tightly, not only because the small steps down the jet felt daunting, but also because holding him grounded me.

Easy,” he murmured, his voice laced with that quiet protectiveness that had always melted me.

Step by step, I descended until both my feet touched solid ground. Relief washed over me again. Behind us, a man in uniform carefully brought down our suitcases, stacking them neatly. Derick gave him a quick nod of gratitude before turning back to me with a soft smile.

“Come, love,” he said, gesturing to the sleek black car waiting nearby.

I bit my lower lip nervously as I walked toward it, my hands instinctively resting on my belly. The movement of the babies inside me was faint but reassuring.

My lips curved in a smile, and without meaning to, I whispered under my breath, Soon, you two will be with me. Mummy can’t wait to welcome you both.”

The thought of holding them my children, my miracles was enough to make my heart swell.

Derick caught me whispering and raised an eyebrow as he helped me into the car. Once he had spoken to the driver and ensured the luggage was being handled, he slid in beside me. His arm brushed mine as he settled, his presence strong and steady.

Were you talking to our kids?he asked with a small grin.

I flushed, caught in my little moment. Yes,I admitted softly.

He chuckled, leaning his head against the seat as the driver pulled the car away from the runway. You’re already such a mother.”

I smiled faintly, stroking my stomach again. The car’s gentle hum, combined with the rhythmic motion of the road, lulled me into a calm state I hadn’t felt in weeks. Still, curiosity burned inside me, and after a moment of silence, I turned to him.

If they were born now, what name would you give them?

Derick’s lips quirked into a halfsmile. HmmI’d name the girl Reven. I love that name.

I blinked at him, my heart skipping. Derick!I nudged his arm playfully. Be serious.”

I am,he said, his eyes twinkling. Reven is beautiful. It’s strong. Just like you.”

Heat crept up my neck. My name on his lips carried a weight it always had, but the idea of our daughter bearing my name felt overwhelming. No,” I shook my head with a laugh.

We can’t name her after me. She deserves her own name, something unique.

Then what do you want to name them?he asked, turning the question back to me.

I sighed, leaning my head against the seat. I don’t know yet. Maybe after delivery, when I finally see their faces, something will come to me. Right nowI just feel blank.

Fair enough,he murmured, reaching over to entwine our fingers. But make sure you come up something cute. They deserve names as special as they are.”

I smiled softly at that, my heart swelling with warmth. For a moment, the world outside the window blurred as I stared at his hand holding mine, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful. Whatever storms had torn through our past, whatever battles we had fought to be here todayit all seemed worth it.

The ride continued with quiet laughter and random conversation.

Derick cracked a joke about how our kids would probably inherit my stubborn streak, and I countered by teasing that they would inherit his habit of being annoyingly overprotective.

The driver remained silent, occasionally glancing at us in the mirror, but I didn’t care. This moment felt like ours alone.

Sir, ma’am,the driver said eventually, breaking into our conversation. We’ve arrived.”

I blinked, turning toward the window. My breath caught.

The car rolled to a stop in front of a cozy house. It wasn’t the largest I had ever seen, nor was it grand like a mansion, but something about it struck me immediately.

It was beautiful. The creampainted walls, the little porch wrapped with wooden rails, the flowerpots by the windows it all radiated warmth. A home, not just a house.

As the car came to a halt, I placed a hand on the door handle, my stomach flipping with excitement. Derick was already stepping out, his tall frame commanding attention, and then he rounded the car to open the door

for me.

The air outside smelled of fresh grass and faint roses. I inhaled deeply, already falling in love with the place,

Derick reached for my hand, and together we walked toward the entrance. My eyes lingered on the cozy details the way the light bounced off the windows, the quiet neighborhood, the gentle humn of life in the background.

Inside, the house unfolded into a fivebedroom apartment, spacious yet warm. The living room was decorated simply but elegantly, soft couches arranged neatly, and warm colors greeted me like an embrace. I trailed my fingers over the smooth banister as we moved further in, my lips parting in awe.
