Matthew crossed his arms, studying me. “Ethan, come on. It’s Ava’s death anniversary. For the past four years, you never did anything on this day. You’d usually shut yourself in, refuse food, and block everyone out. And now you’re working? You’re even drinking coffee like it’s a normal day.”

A small, tired smile touched my lips. “That’s because I’ve learned to come over my grief,” I said quietly.

“Dead serious,” I replied, smirking faintly. “I’ve learned that everything that happened… it wasn’t her fault. She deserves to be celebrated. Maybe the Moon Goddess didn’t want me to have a partner maybe that was my fate. But I have a daughter.

And that’s enough.”

Matthew’s laughter slowly died down, replaced with something softer respect. “You’ve really changed,” he said quietly. “I’m proud of you, man.”

I nodded, feeling a warmth rise in my chest. “Thank you. So, will you help me?”

He grinned. “Of course. I’ll get the omegas and decorators started right away. We’ll make it big deserves it.”
