Chapter 73
Raven’s FOR
The ride back to the pack house was quiet. Unnaturally so. Neither of us spoke as alpha Ethan manneered the ear through the gravel–lined fade, just in the passenger seat, but my gaze kept drifting to the back seat where Elisa sat silently, her eyes focused on the scenery flashing by Her arms were Sided across her chest, but every once in a while, she’d glance at me with concern swimming in her big brown eyes
The silence wasn’t uncomfortable, not exactly. It was thick with unsaid emotions and questions that neither of us dared to voice, I knew she was trying to understand me–trying to make sense of what I did. And I didn’t have the words to explain it to her. How could I, when I barely understood it myse

The moment we reached the pack house, instinctively reached for the door handle, but before I could get out, Elisa leaned forward and touched my shoulder gently. I frenet

Inodded wordlessly, and together, we collected the few bags that had been packed by the healer. They mostly held clean clothes and the little lowmed- which wasn’t much to begin with
We entered through the side entrance to avoid drawing attention. A few pack members were lingering around, casting curious glances in our direction, but no one said a word. The whispers had probably already begun the moment the news of what happened reached the pack
I felt like a ghost walking through the halls I once knew so well
Once we reached the maid’s quarters, Elisa turned toward the guest hallway. I followed her and helped carry her bag to her room
After placing her things on the table, I looked around awkwardly. “Thank you,” I said quietly. “For staying with me while I was being treated…and for everything else.
Elisa looked up from where she was unpacking and gave me a sincere smile. “You don’t need to thank me, Raven. You’re not alone, no matter what anyone says. You’re… family.”
The word hit me like a soft slap, Family. It sounded foreign, but sweet. Painful, but needed.
I looked away, blinking rapidly. “Still… I appreciate it.”

your life again, no matter what. I mean it”
I swallowed the lump in my throat and nodded. “I won’t,” I whispered, although the promise felt fragile. I wanted to mean it.
She smiled again and stepped back. “Now go shower and rest. You look like you’ve walked through ten storms.”
“Felt more like twenty,” I muttered under my breath, and she laughed softly
With a small smile tugging at my lips, I returned to the maid’s quarters and entered the room I had been assigned. It was small, cramped, and plain–but it was my space. For now.
Istripped off the borrowed clothes and stepped into the bathroom, letting the warm water wash away the remaining evidence of everything thad endured. My skin stung where the water touched the bandages, but I welcomed the pain. It reminded me I was still alive.
Alive.
When I stepped out, the steam still clung to the air, and I felt slightly lighter, slightly cleaner. I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around myself before heading into the room.

Thenitore.
Sitting on my bed like she owned it–like she belonged there was in,
She sat with her legs crossed, her arms resting casually on her lap, and her blonde hair cascading over one shoulder. She looked every bit th Luna she was supposed to be–but her eyes were cold. Dangerous
“Olivia,” I breathed, my heart thudding in shock and dread. “What are you doing here?”
She tilted her head, her lips curling into a smirk, “Oh, I heard the little maid survived after all,” she said smoothly. “And just had to see it with my own eyes.”
My eyes narrowed, “Get out.”
She laughed
-a cruel, mocking sound that chilled my spine. “Now–now. Is that any way to speak to your Luria?”
“I stopped caring about titles when yours almost got me killed,” I snapped, stepping back toward the door in case I needed to call for help. “You shouldn’t be here.”
She rose from the bed slowly, walking toward me with deliberate grace. “You know, I thought you were stronger than that,” she said mockingly. “But you couldn’t even handle three guards. You almost took your own life. Tsk, tsk.
I clenched my jaw, every muscle in my body stiff. “What happened to me is none of your business.”

She stopped inches away from me, and I could feel the venom in her gaze. “Oh, but it is. Because you you dared to put y pushed me, remember?”
“After you provoked me!” I snapped.
She laughed again. “Still, it’s a shame Alpha Ethan didn’t let you die. It would have saved him the trouble.”
I stared at her, my body trembling with barely restrained rage. “Well, too bad for you, Olivia. I’m alive. And now, I can expose you.”
Her eyes widened for just a second, then narrowed. “You don’t know anything.”
“I know enough,” I hissed. “You’re not as perfect as you pretend to be. And one day, Ethan will see it too.”
Before she could respond, a sudden knock echoed at the door.
Both of us jumped.
