Chapter 74
Chapter 74
Raven’s POV
stood frozen in place as Alpha Ethan entered the room. I could see the surprise flash across his been before he marked it with his undatedife heart started to pound. Panic began to rise in my chest, but I buried it quickly. Whatever was about to happen, I couldn’t afford to look weak of him, and especially not in front of her?
“What the hell is going on here?” he asked, bis cold gaze shitting between me and Olivia.
“Oh, honey,” Olivia purred, stepping up to him and wrapping her arms around his shoulders like the hadn’t just walked into my room uninvited. “I just came here to tell Raven–no, the maid–to po prepare dinner, bu’t that what she’s supposed to do?” she added, her eyes narrowing at me with veom hidden behind a sugary smile.
I clenched my fists at my sides. I knew Olivia was trying to provoke me. It was always like this. Every smile, every touch, emery word from her tips was calculated. She thrived on control–and on making me feel small.
Alpha Ethan didn’t say anything for a moment. His eyes bore into mine as if trying to uncover the thoughts I was hiding But I didn’t give him the satisfaction. I lowered my gaze slightly and mumbled, “Yes, Alpha. I’ll do that now.”
But instead of letting me leave, he spoke again. “No. You’re staying.”
My head snapped up. “Alpha?”
“You’re staying,” he repeated coldly. “Follow me. Both of you.”
I didn’t want to move. My feet refused to budge at first, but Olivia gave me a smug look as she tugged on Ethan’s arm and walked ahead like she was leading the way to victory, Gritting my teeth, I followed them down the hallway.
He led us into one of the large guest rooms, one I had cleaned a thousand times before but never stayed in. The bed was large, the curtains a deep shade of burgundy, and candles glowed dimly from the corners. My stomach dropped.
What was happening?
I stood awkwardly by the door while Ethan went straight to the bed and sat down. Olivia, with all the confidence of a Luna, walked to him and subside him, her fingers instantly curling around his shoulder.
“Why… why am I here?” asked hesitantly,
ad, he leaned back, resting against the headboard, while Olivia swung a leg over his lap and settled herself on Ethan didn’t look at me right away. Instead, top of him like it was the most natural thing in the world. “You’re here in case we need something he finally said, his tone flat, like it was just a matter- of–fact statement. “Sit down.”
“What?” My voice cracked, and I hated it.
“You heard me. Sit down and stay. This won’t take long. His eyes locked with mine, completely void of emotion. “You’re still under my command, Raven. Don’t make me repeat myself again.”
A part of me wanted to scream, to throw something, to run out and never look back. But I couldn’t. I had nowhere else to go. No one who would protect me if I defied him. And even if I protested, it would only make things worse. I walked to the single–seater chair in the corner of the room and sat stiffly. trying not to tremble,
Olivia looked at me with a victorious smile, then turned back to Ethan, who was already tugging at the hem of her dress.
I looked away!
But I could still hear everything

clenched my jaw, gripping the armrest of the chair so hard that my nails dug into the fabric. I wanted to cover my ears, to that it as sit, be couldn’t—not without him punishing me. I was supposed to watch.
Why was he doing this?
Hold myself over and over again that I didn’t care, That he wasn nine anymore. That Olivia had taken him. That this was all a mistake written by fade But every time his lips touched her skin, every time his hands roamed her burly, my chest squeezed tighter, couldn’t breathe.
My vision blumed with tears I refused to shed.
“Ethan…” Olivia maaned, louder now, more theatrical I knew she was putting on a show- for me. And when she opened her eyes mid–moan and locked directly at me with a satisfied smirk, I couldn’t take it anymore.
I stood abruptly
“Sit down,” Ethan growled without even opening his eyes.
But I didn’t listen. I couldn’t. My throat burned with unshed cries. I rushed out of the room, ignoring Olivia’s triumphant laugh behind me. I didn’t stop until I reached the hallway. My feet stumbled against the carpeted floor as I made my way back to the maid quarters.
I slammed the door shut and leaned against it, breathing heavily. The tears came then–flooding down my cheeks, silent but hot, I slid to the floor, hugging my knees to my chest as the sabs shook my entire body.
Why was he doing this to me?
Why did he call me in there to witness… that?
I was nothing to him. Less than nothing
But my
y heart still wanted him.
And that was the cruelest part.
I curled up on the cold floor for a long time, letting my tears soak into the cotton of my thin unidorm. I should be used to this by now–the humiliation, the betrayal. But nothing ever truly prepared me for the ache of watching the man, who should have been mine, belong so completely to someone else.
Especially to her.
Olivia.
My hall–sister. My tormentor. The person who had taken everything from me and never once looked back.
I couldn’t go on like this.
I picked myself up eventually, dragged myself to the small sink in my room, and splashed water on my face. My eyes were red, swollen. Hooked like a ghost of the girl I used to be.
A knock on the door startled me.
I opened it cautiously and found Elisa standing there, holding a plate of food. “You didn’t serve dinner today so I decided to bring saltly, concern in her eyes.

“Did he do something again?”
