Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 84

Chapter 84

Alpha Ethan’s POV

I walked out of the pack clinic and into the car inceded to go back to the park house preded to shower, change, and maybe get checking on Raven again. But as much as I tried to distract myself with the mundane, my thoughts kept circling back to her to Ratn

Why was she in the woods alone?

Who sent those rogues?

Why was Beta Matthew acting so damn protective of her!

Something didn’t add up. The tension, the secrecy, the way Haven’s eyes searched mine like she didn’t trust me anymore. I couldn’t blame hernot entirely, I hadn’t exactly given her reasons to believe I was on her side lately, But watching her lying unconscious on that hospital bed stirred something in me, I couldn’t push away.

Minutes later, I pulled into the pack house parking lot. I didn’t even wait for a guard to open my doorI got out, slammed it shut, and walked brickly, toward the front entrance. The guards bowed, but I barely acknowledged them. My mind was still in that clinic room, still seeing the pale expression on Raven’s face, the way her breathing had hitched in pain as the nurse checked her wounds.

I made my way up the stairs and entered my room. The door clicked behind me with a soft thud. Finally, silence. The kind of silence used to find comfort in, but now felt smothering.

I stripped off my bloodstained shirt and boots and headed straight for the bathroom. The water roared as I stepped into the shower, letting the warn pressure beat against my back. I ran a hand down my face, wishing it could wash away the guilt that had begun to cling to me like my shadow.

She was

maid.

But why did it feel like my world had tilted off its axis because of her?

I didn’t want to admit it, but I’d been thinking about Raven more than I should. I told myself it was guilt. Remorse. Maybe even confusion, But every time I saw her, something inside me stirreda deep, primal ache that I hadn’t felt in a long time.

Not even for Olivia.

I stepped out of the shower, grabbing a towel and drying off quickly As I walked out of the bathroom into my room, I froze.

There she was.

Olivia.

My mate.

Naked, Sprawled seductively on my bed like some kind of offering.

p with a sly smile, her long black hair cascading over her shoulders, her eyes halflidded with desire. I thought I’d surprise you,she purred.

She looked up

1 tightened my jaw.

What are you doing?asked coldly, the steady knew.

She didn’t answer at first. Instead, she slid off the bed and began walking toward me, her hips swaying in that calculated way use it irritated me.

She placed her hands on my chest. It’s bech a while, Ethan. I miss un.

I didn’t move. I didn’t touch her. Her scentonce familiar, once comfortingnow felt foreign. Wrong.

mire. But now

I’m not in the mood,” I said,

ing to step back, but she gripped my armi lighter.

That’s a lie,she said, laughing softly, “I can feel your heart racing!

I stared down at her. She was firautiful. She always had been. But something had shited.

The bend the one that tied me to her- it didist feel the same anymore. In fact, I hadn’t felt that pull in a long time. Not since I started noticing Raven bit her lip when she was nervous. Not since I heard her cry quietly in the laundry room, trying to be strong. Not since I found myself comparing every other woman, including Olivia, to her,

Why? Why had the Moon Goddess chosen Dinds for me when Haven

Do you still love me?Olivia’s voice broke through my thoughts.

I blinked, staring at her. She was looking up at me, her dark eyes searching, pleading.

Lasked if y you still love me,she said again, her voice cracking.

I paused.

I do,I said, but the words felt heavy, forced. But I don’t want this. Not right now.

Her expression twisted into hurtthen anger.

You don’t even treat me like your mate anymore, she’snapped, stepping back. All you ever think about is her. Raven.

I flinched.

I’ve seen it,she hissed, walking to the closet and yanking it open. You think don’t know about you and Matthew arguing over who would carry her into the pack clinic? You think I don’t see the way you look at her? You don’t even try to hide it anymore.”

Raven has nothing to do with this,I said sharply, narrowing my eyes. Don’t drag her into this. I’m not interested in sex right now. That’s all this is

Don’t lie to me!she snapped, throwing on a black dress. You’re lying to yourself

I said nothing. What was there to say? She wasn’t wrong.

She turned around, her eyes blazing you won’t leave her, EthanI’ll make her disappear.”

The room froze.

you just say?

I stared at her, heart hammering What did you

You heard me,” she said coldly. She’s ruining everything, I won’t let her take what’s mine

She stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

I stood there, motionless.

She wouldn’t, Would she!

I paced the room for a few minutes, trying to collect myself. I needed to calm down, but her words haunted me like a curse. The look in her eyes when she said she’d make Raven disappear wasn’t one of jealousyit was of pure malice.

I needed to find out what Olivia was planning
