Chapter 83
Chapter 83
Alpha Uthan’s POV
hould feel Matthew’s gate fixed on me as I drove to the pack clinic. it wasn’t just a look was a storm brawing behind his eyes. The teriden i was thick, and couldn’t ignore it any longer.
“What’s wrong? Why the hell are you staring at me like that?” I snapped, my voice low but sharp.
He didn’t respond. His silence screamed louder than words. He just looked away, jmchenched light, fists curled on his lap. I knew that look it was anger, frustration, and something else I couldn’t place, Guilt? No. Pain?
I shook the thought away. My eyes flicked to the rearview mirror. Haven was still unconscious in the back seat, her face pate, almost ghostly, like the life was slowly slipping away from her. A sharp pain twisted in my chest, but ignored it. She was just a slave. That’s what I kept telling myself Nothing more. Nothing less
The silence stretched between trs, unbearable. Every second felt like a hammer striking a bell–loud and resounding in my skull
Finally, the clinic came into view. My foot slammed the brake a little too hard, and the tires screeched to a halt in front of the building. Before could even fully stop the engine, Matthew jumped out, rushing around to the other side to open the door and scoop her up.
“Wait,” I growled, stepping out of the car and slamming the door shut. “Let me carry her in.”
He shot me a glare. “You’ve done enough”
“Don’t start,” I warned, stepping closer. “She’s still my responsibility.”
“Responsibility?” he scoffed bitterly. “That what you call it now? Using her like a toy? Hurting her when it suits you? Don’t talk to me about responsibility. Alpha.
Isquared my shoulders, rage bubbling in my veins. “I am the Alpha. It’s my duty to protect my pack members-”
“Then you failed her!” Matthew roared, his voice loud enough to make a couple of nurses at the doorway turn their heads.
His words hit harder than I expected. For a second, my breath caught, But I couldn’t back down. Not here, Not now.
“She’s my-”
“Don’t you dare say it,” he snapped, eyes blazing, “She’s your what? Slave? Whore? What gives you the right to speak for her?”
“lown her!” I shouted without thinking.
The words hung in the air, toxic, and cruel. I didn’t mean it like that… Or maybe I did. I didn’t know anymore. Everything about Raven was messing with my head.
Matthew’s face twisted in disgust. He adjusted her body carefully in his arms and turned away from me, but I stepped in front of him.
“We’re wasting time,” I gritted. “She needs help. Give her to me.”
“No.”
“Matthew,” I said, my bone dropping dangerously. “I’m not going to say it again.”
“And I’m not handing her over to your” he snapped. “Not after what you did. You think you can use power to justify your cruelty?
A crowd was beginning to gather–nurses, warriors, even a few omegas passing by. They watched, wide–eyed, as their Alpha and Beta stood inches apart, ready to erupt like volcanoes over a barely conscious maid

Chapter 83
“She belongs to my house,” I said, keeping my voice lew and harsh. “Whether you be it or not, the is under my care
“That’s the damn problemi,” Matthew hissed. “You don’t cover
Under your cale and you didn I knew when she fainted this morning under your care and she wanded into the woods.
The words stung Anal, My hand balled into a fist at my side, and for a moment, I theright Finight hit him. But then looked at her. Alen Limp in 19 arms. Her lips parted slightly, her lashes fluttering but not waking. She looked like a broken doll
My chest tightened again.
Damn it.
With a strangled breath, I stepped back and muttered, “Fine. Take her”
Matthew didn’t say a word. He just pushed past me, storming through the clinic doors like a man on fire.
I stood outside, seething. My hands trembled, and I didn’t know if it was rage or guilt or something else I didn’t want to name
What the hell was wrong with me?
Minutes dragged by like hours. I paced outside the clinic like a madman. Every few seconds, I would glance at the entrance, hoping–praying that someone would come out and tell me she was okay. Tell me she was fine. Tell me I hadn’t pushed too far this time.
Trubbed my
face, trying to calm my nerves. I wasn’t supposed to feel this way. She was just a servant. A means to an end. A convenience.
Then why did I feel like I was about to lose a part of myself?
The door creaked open, and I spun around.
A nurse stepped out, adjusting her glasses. “Alpha,” she said with a small bow,
Trushed over. “How is she?”
“She’s stable for now,” she said, keeping her tone calm and professional. “Unconscious, but no life–threatening injuries, We’ve given her something to help her rest. She’ll likely wake up later today.”
exhaled, my shoulders dropping a little. Relief washed over me like a wave
“She–she’s going to be okay?”
“Yes, Alpha. But I recommend giving her space. Her body is recovering.
I nodded quickly, not wanting to hear the rest.
Behind the nurse, Matthew appeared in the hallway. His eyes found mine, and he walked out without saying anything.
But just as he passed me, he muttered under his breath, “If she hadn’t woken up… you would’ve had it hot with me
Then he was gone, his footsteps heavy with fury.
I stood there, stunned.
Had it hot with me?
What the hell did that mean? What the hell was going on between them?
Were they…?
Chapter 83
No No, no, no Raven wou
She belonged to me
dace. She couldn’t.
But the seed of doubt was plaited, and it was growing fast.
Was she also fucking Matthew behind my back
Was that why he was so protective? So, entaged?
A growl rumbled from deep in my throat. I hated the thought. The image of them together made my blood boil.
But then I laughed bitterly.
What was I even thinking? She was a slave. My slave. A toy I used to vent my stress. Nothing more. She wasn’t supposed to matter She was supposed to get under my skin. She wasn’t supposed to hurt me.
