Chapter 90
Chapter 90
I walked out them feeling miserable how could he do this? Turning me on like I meant something to him, then dismissing matike I was nothing th was pure lorture. But there was nothing I could do. I wasn’t just his maid anymore – I was his secret. His weakness. His prisoner.
Just then, the head mald’s voice rang through the hallway, pulling me back to reality
“Raven, go serve dinner,”
I sighed in frustration, rolling my eyes. “So damn annoying.“I multered under my breath, dragging my feet toward the kitchen.
I hated this. Every part of it. My head still throbbed faintly from earlier events. My body felt heavy, like the emotions inside me were weighing down every step I took. But I had no choice–Thad to serve, whether I wanted to or not
reached for the tray of food, balancing it with tired arms, and stepped into the grand dining hall. The air inside was always suffocating it wasn’t the size of the room or the glittering chandeliers above–it was the people, the eyes that followed you like you were prey.
And then there was her.
Olivia.
She sat elegantly, as always, dressed like a queen, even when she wasn’t wearing a crown. She looked at me with that same disgusting, curled–lip expression she reserved for something she considered beneath her.
Tignored her. I had mastered that skill. She didn’t matter, not really. Not anymore.
| focused on my task, setting dishes before the seated wolves, some of whom barely acknowledged me. My movements were mechanical. One plate. Then another. Then-
The air shined.
Even without turning, I felt it. My skin prickled. My heart clenched.
He was here.
Alpha Ethan
His presence was like a storm–you didn’t need to see him to know he had arrived. I could feel his gaze burning into my back, I swallowed, hard. I kept my head down, kept moving.
But it was impossible not to look his way. My traitorous eyes lifted, only briefly, just enough to catch his tall figure entering the room, the way the light from the hall framed him like some cursed deity.
I was serving him next.
Damn fate.
Bela Matthew caught my eye as I approached and gave me a warm smile–gentle, kind, safe. I didn’t even think before returning it with a small nod. smile always made things feel a little less hopeless.
Treached Alpha Ethan’s place at the table and carefully lowered the tray.
That’s when it happened.
A sharp pain exploded on the side of my head.
Chapter 90
It took me a second to process it. One second i was standing there, trying to maintain composure, and the next pain, hot and blinding, t My knees buckled slightly
Aclatter
The sound of shattering ceramic filled the room.
Gasps.
“Wahal” someone called out in alarm.
My vision blamed as Treached up, my fingers trembling, finding warm, sticky blood trickling down from where the plate had struck me,
“You call this food?” Alpha Ethan roared, rising to his feet, his eyes wild with hary, “I said I didn’t want this?
My mouth opened to explain, to apologize maybe, but no words came. Only pain. Only humiliation.
Beta Matthew shot to his feet instantly, knocking his chair back as he rushed to my side.
“Enough!” he snapped, his tone like a whip cracking across the room.
He gave Alpha Ethan a deadly glare as he reached for me, his hands gently cradling my arms. “Come on, Raven. Let’s get you out of here”
I didn’t resist. I couldn’t. The room was spinning, my head throbbed, and all I wanted was to disappear.
He led me out into the gardens, the cold night air biting against my skin. We found a bench beneath the tall trees, and he sat me down gently, kneeling in
front of me.
“Damn him,” he muttered, dabbing at the wound with his handkerchief “I swear, one day he’ll push too far.”
I didn’t respond. I just cried. Silent tears fell down my face, mixing with the blood and the shame. Everything in me ached–my head, my chest, my soul
Beta Matthew’s hands stilled as he looked at me, sadness thick in his voice: “Maybe… maybe when you find your mate, he’ll finally let you go.”
My chest clenched harder.
He didn’t know.
No one knew.
How could I tell him?
That the monster who had just stoned me with a dinner plate…
was my mate?
My sobs came harder, and I couldn’t hide it. Beta Matthew sat beside me now, pulling me gently into his arms, letting me bury my face into himhoulder
I wanted to stay there forever.
“He’ll let you go,” he whispered again, as if it would soothe the ache in my soul. “I promise you that. And when he does, you’ll be free.”
But I wasn’t sure freedom was possible for someone like m
My voice came out in a whisper. “What if.. what if my mate doesn’t want me?”
He pulled back slightly, brushing some blood and hair from my face. “Then he doesn’t deserve you. Any wolf who would hurt you like this isn’t a real mate. He’s a coward.”

I closed my eyes.
If only he knew
If only he really knew
And then
My whole body went cold,
Beta Matthew stiffened beside me.
I turned slowly, my heart racing.
Alpha Ethan stood there, arms folded, jaw clenched, his eyes shadowed and unreadable.
“What are you doing here?” Beta Matthew asked coldly, rising to his feet, placing himself between me and the Alpha.
Ethan didn’t flinch. “That’s none of your concern.”
You stoned her like she was trash!” Matthew yelled. “She’s not you’re punching bag. Alpha or not!”
“She is trash,” Alpha Ethan said coldly, his voice cutting like ice. “And I don’t recall asking for your opinion,
Beta.
Matthew’s fists clenched. “You don’t deserve her-
“Stay out of this,” Ethan growled. “You think I don’t see what you’re doing? Hovering around here some lost pup? Stay Away”
He walked forward and gripped my arm.
Hlinched
“Let her po” Beta Matthew barked.
Alpha Ethan didn’t even look at him. “She’s mine. Not yours.”
And with that, he dragged me away.
He didn’t say anything as we walked–stormed–back to the pack house. His grip was tight. My steps stumbled more than once, but he didn’t slow. We reached his study and only then did he let go.
“Sit,” he ordered.
I didn’t move.
“I said sit!” he barked.
Still, I stayed standing. My head still throbbed, but not as much as my heart. The humiliation, the pain, the emotional wreckage–it was too much.
“You humiliated me in front of everyone,” he snapped.
“You stoned me in front of everyone! I screamed, the words bursting from my mouth.
“You deserved it,” he said with a sneer. “Flashing him a smile? Have you no shame?”
My eyes widened. “So this is what it’s about? You’re jealous?”
