This time, Sebastian ran into a burning building for her.

Roxanne rubbed her temples, and her beautiful face was full of exhaustion. "I'll sleep in another room so that I won't disturb his rest."

She started to get out of bed, but a large hand clamped tightly around hers.

Even while unconscious, Sebastian refused to let go.

Elvis saw this and instantly understood everything. With a light smile, he said, "You might as well stay here. Looks like he doesn't want you going anywhere."

Roxanne was speechless. She wanted to leave! She tried to pull her hand free, but Sebastian's grip was like it had been welded shut. It was useless.

Eventually, she gave up and sank back onto the bed, her eyes staring off into nothing. Someone had definitely tried to kill her with that fire yesterday. She hadn't been in town long and had no enemies.

It had to be related to Angeline.

She let out a cold smirk.

Angeline had better stay far away. Otherwise, she'd settle the score—for her and Marilyn—if she bumped into Angeline again.

She and Sebastian were both hooked up to IVs. A sedative must've been mixed in because she drifted off before she knew it. When she woke up again, there was a hot hand around her waist. She jolted in surprise and immediately started to struggle.

"Mmph…" A low groan came from beside her.

Then, Sebastian's deep voice sounded right next to her ear. "Don't move."

At that moment, Roxanne looked at him with a complicated and searching expression. She had expected him to be furious, but his tone was so calm.

She let out a soft sigh. "Sebastian, we already broke up. I like my life now. Can't you just let me go? Please?"

He lowered his gaze, his eyes gradually darkening. "Is it because of the guy you're living with?"

His voice was steady, but she could still hear the bitterness in his words. She knew he was talking about Zachary.

He knew that too, but his pride wouldn't let him say Zachary's name. It was like it was something that would burn his mouth.

Sighing, Roxanne answered helplessly, "If that's what you think, I can't stop you."
