Mending a Broken Love (Roxanne and Sebastian) novel Chapter 150

Sebastian would say that he only treated Liana as a younger sister and question why Roxanne had to make a fuss about it.

Roxanne lifted a brow with a mocking expression as she looked at Sebastian."There's an engraving inside the band. Take a good look and then tell me if this ring was custom-made for me."

Something in her tone instantly put him on edge, and he didn't like the sarcasm on her delicate face one bit. He picked up the ring, rolling it between his fingers with a gloomy expression. He then saw the words inside the band.

"SH❤LH".

His brows knitted tightly together, and a sharp flash of fury passed through his dark eyes. Even his lashes trembled faintly. Suddenly, he clenched the ring hard in his palm, and a storm swirled in his gaze.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he had forced himself to calm down.

"I gave them your ring size," he said to Roxanne in a low voice. "And I gave your name. I have no idea why this happened."

Roxanne crossed her arms, watching him with an ingenuine smile.

"Sebastian, do you even believe your own words? If you really gave them my size and name, who would've had the nerve to change it?"

Of course, it wasn't impossible. It wasn't that people didn't respect him; they just didn't give a damn about her.

His throat worked as he swallowed, and for the first time, those usually icy eyes showed a flicker of helplessness. Even so, he stayed composed. "I'll get to the bottom of it."

He pulled out his phone and called Jamie.

"Mr. Hayes."

Sebastian's voice was calm but cold. "I gave you the size and name for True Love's Heart, which I asked you to custom order. Why is the size wrong? And why is the engraving not her name?"

"What? The engraving and the size are both wrong? I'm so sorry, Mr. Hayes! That's my fault. When you gave me the task, I was busy organizing a meeting report, so I handed it off to Nathaniel. When he gave me the ring, I just passed it on to you without double-checking anything. I'm really sorry! It was a huge oversight on my part. Please punish me however you see fit!"

"Because they all know I don't matter to you—not enough to be worth their effort anyway. They don't even bother hiding it. Honestly? I think they deliberately messed up the name and size just to humiliate me.

"If this had been for Liana, do you think there would've been a single mistake?"

From his reaction, Roxanne could tell Sebastian hadn't known. He had been fooled too. And clearly, Nathaniel was behind it. He had intentionally set her up to feel insulted.

But still, even if she took a step back and gave them the benefit of the doubt, why did Nathaniel and Jamie feel so comfortable passing the blame like that? It was because of Sebastian's attitude.

If this had been about Liana, would they have dared? No. There was not a chance of that.

Sebastian's fists clenched, and his throat tightened. He wanted to say something, but the words wouldn't come.

Roxanne took a deep breath, then looked him square in the eye. "Sebastian, the reason I want to leave you is because loving you has made me feel small and humiliated. Please… just let me go."
